Auto Mode scans for AC, DC, OHMS and Continuity with a "beep" when continuity is confirmed. I switched from checking household batteries to 120V AC in the wall without switching between modes. In fact, the only Mode switch is NCV. A Light Switch turns on a backlight. I'm 68 Years old and I love the large LED screen. I can easily see it without reading classes. And there is a Backlight Button that makes everything look Super Bright. I only paid $20 for this device. It's hard to understand how they can manufacture and ship it for that cost.Small negative: At first, I had a hard time opening the battery compartment. Make sure to remove the QC label. My QC label was preventing the battery compartment from opening. There is one screw on the back, remove it and the center part of the back comes out, revealing where you insert Qty (2) AAA batteries.

Really.I always go back and read the advertiser description and other reviews.The Digial Multi Meter in this review is pocket size, and that could come in extremely handy from time to time. I really like the Auto ranging aspect, and this meter works very well in that regard.I threw a lot of tests at this meter, and for the most part it does a very good job.As far as non-contact voltage detection this digital multi meter is one of the more sensitive I have ever tested. It started detecting AC voltage almost 12 inches from a receptacle.Display is highly readable.This is a nice pocket size digital multi meter and a fine meter at this price.
