CR2 batteries are everywhere! You’ll find them in digital cameras, range finders, smoke detectors, flashlights, and even laser pointers. I mostly use CR2 Lithium batteries for my digital cameras and smart home devices. Name-brand batteries last longer, but they’re way more expensive. So, I usually buy more than two at a time to be safe and save some money.One day, I found this EBL brand 6-pack CR2 battery with a 10-year shelf life for a fraction of the price of name-brand batteries. I was skeptical, but I decided to give it a try. I checked the voltage, and it was 3.26V, which is good enough for me. But here’s the catch - the package doesn’t have a date on it, so I have no idea how long it’s been sitting on the shelf. I can only check the next battery in the pack in a few months to make sure it’s still working. But so far, it’s been flawless in my device. I’m giving it 5 stars, but I’ll keep an eye on it over the next few months to see how it holds up.

This 6 pack of CR2 3v lithium batteries arrived quickly and appeared to be fresh and new. As stated in the description, these are SINGLE USE batteries and NOT rechargeable. Although they are listed as having a 10 year shelf life, there is no indication of when they were manufactured or of when the 10 year shelf life expires. I use these for the battery backup for the clock in a wall mounted timer switch so there is very low current draw. Original battery lasted about 4 years, we will see how well these compare over time. I did test the no load voltage and all 6 batteries showed just slightly higher than 3 volts and when installed into the wall switch the “LOW BATT” warning disappeared.

It's kind of difficult when buying batteries to positively know how long they will last, both in the equipment they power as well as just sitting on the shelf. So for now I'll assume that these EBL CR2 Lithium Batteries are very good, and that the claim that they have a shelf life of 10 years is valid. And why not? That is after all the typical lifespan that we've come to expect from this battery chemistry.This 6-pack is priced in line with similar offerings from other vendors. Of course, the more cells you buy at the same time, the less the cost per unit typically is. As for me, the only device I currently have that uses the CR2 battery is a golfing rangefinder, so six should last me a really long time. The EBL cell fits the rangefinder and powers it just as it should. I did notice that these EBL cells are rated at 1000mAh, which is a bit better than the one that I previously had in the device, which was rated at 900mAh; so the EBLs should last a bit longer.The box contains a pairs of 3-cell shrink-wrapped bundles. This is good, as it helps protect the cells from being shorted out by some metallic object if placed in a drawer awaiting actual use. As I stated in this review's headline, these batteries seem good so far; but time will tell how well they will fare in the long run.

1/18/25 This review is for EBL CR2 Battery, 6 Pack CR2 3V Lithium Batteries 1000mAh High Capacity, 10 Years Shelf Life, Long Lasting Power for Rangefinder, Cameras, Security Sensors. The door sensors on my security system use these batteries. I like that these are 1000mAh for that purpose. I put them in both of my sensors and no issues so far. These batteries can be hard to find, and expensive, at the big box store near me. 6 of these for $9.99 is a fantastic value compared to what I paid a few months ago. If they last as long as the name brand batteries, these would be five star.

These come in a cardboard box -- no hard plastic shell to fight with when opening and easily recyclable. Unfortunately, the batteries themselves are plastic wrapped in two sets of three batteries each. I'm not sure why they wrapped the batteries in plastic, but that's how it is.I ordered these because this size is not always easy to find CR2 batteries in stores when you need one and always expensive. So, with a 10-year shelf life (benefit of the doubt here) I figured I'd stock up so I didn't have to scramble every time my smart door lock reported a low battery.Out of the box the battery I installed in my smart door lock worked fine and reported a full battery. These batteries typically last 6-8 months in my lock, so I'll assume these will perform the same. If not, I'll report back with any shortcomings. But from what I can see and know about other EBL products I don't forsee any problem.

I have been using name-brand batteries mainly for longer shelf life even though they cost a lot more because I always buy more than 2 at a time for unexpected replacement and of course, cost saving.When I saw this EBL brand 6-pack CR2 battery with 10-year shelf life at a fraction of price compared to name-brand batteries, I wanted to try it.I measured the no-load voltage of this battery, and it read 3.26V, which is good. Since there is no manufactured date on the package, I have no idea how long it has been on the shelf. Regarding the shelf life, I can only check the next battery in the package in a few months whether the voltage doesn’t drop significantly due to self-discharge. For now, this battery is working in my device without any problem, therefore I will rate 5-stars. I will observe the battery life and shelf life in a few months to a year.
