I let my flooring vendor talk me into laminate over actual hardwood and I stupidly, stupidly, stupidly fell for it. Laminate is so fragile and requires so much care, and will have to be replaced frequently. Anyway, because of this I'm always looking for pads etc. to place under furniture and heavy things. This is going to work great under my xmas tree stand. I purchased the larger size because I was unsure if the smaller would work, turns out I probably should have gotten the smaller but that's ok because the reality is I can either easily cut this down or fold it over given it'll be covered by the tree skirt anyway.As an aside, if you are a model train lover, this would be a good table or floor cover to set up a set and if you're introducing model trains to your kids, this would make a great "Santa surprise" set up gift for xmas morning too. (You should easily be able to iron out the fold marks.)

This is thin but should prevent water from getting on the floor which is all I really need it to do. It will be covered by a tree skirt so the appearance is fine and it is not unattractive as it is. I think it is about the quality I would expect for around $10 and is worth it at about that price. It will work and I cannot really complain about it.

Ok, it WILL arrive folded. But it is supposed to go UNDER your tree and UNDER your tree skirt, so it does not matter that it has creases. I love that it is thick and will protect my floor!A couple of years ago my thin plastic thing under the tree did not hold. My wood floors were ruined underneath that tree. I had to refinish them and I had to replace about 3 boards (thankfully I had them from ripping wood floors out of a bathroom! A bathroom where the previous owners had young children taking baths.... yeah, that did not work either).So I fixed my floors and then was on the hunt for perfect protection. I found it! I am not worried about the creases which will surely fade over te holidays under the tree skirt. This will be fully covered by a top fabric of choice and the weight of the tree, and then gifts. It is absolutely perfect.Highly recommended.

I didn't need this item to be pretty or perfect - it just needed to protect my hardwood floor from scratches that could be sustained from my tree stand. Check! The underside keeps it in place. My tree went on top and from there, everything is covered by my tree skirt. Works as promised.

I was looking for a floor protector for a live Christmas tree. I believe in better safe, than sorry, and I don't want to risk water getting on the floor and ruining it. It comes creased from the folds, but it's going under the tree, and I'll put a tree skirt over it, so it will not be seen. It is very thin with a felt top and waterproof plastic on the bottom. If a little water gets on it, the felt will soak it up, and the plastic on the bottom will keep it from going through to the floor. This will work perfectly and give me peace of mind.
