Was not expecting this wooden paint brush holder to look so beautiful . It really is very pretty. love the way it hold my brushes when I am painting with different brushes at once. I recommend this item to all artis .

I liked that the wells in the holder were deep enough to hold the brushes (where a previous holder I had was not deep enough and the brushes slid around). I would like it if the holder were a bit wider so that the brushes could balance a bit more easily in each well, and not allow the brush to fall backwards or forwards.

Nice size- bigger than I expected. Has some weight to it which is great for keeping it standing up when brushes are leaned on it. Very happy !

I love the brush rest I received from Rosewood Calligraphy. It is charming, and extremely well crafted. Much obliged. ๐งก๐๐ฝ๐งก

it's very ugly. none of the elegance from the pictures. almost like someone carved it in imitation of beauty and failed. it's like a set of molars, which i would rather not set my brush on.

Works well in my studio. Helps me define the brushes I will use for a painting.

Nicely varnished, very smooth wood. Works well to keep your brushes up off your work surface. I don't worry about damaging my brushes or having them roll off my desk as I paint. Very useful item and it looks nice sitting on a shelf when not in use.

I have been looking at this item for some time now and finally decided purchase it. The price of the item had me questioning the quality. It exceeded my expectations in just about every area. It is larger than it appeared online, much heavier and considerably more stable than I thought it was going to be as well. Aesthetically it is a nice looking piece as well. There are a few drips on one side from a poor paint job, but I don't even care. This is great. It holds up to four regular sized brushes which makes it great for practicing Shodo or sumi-e or any other project which may require the use of several brushes.

Perfect for a stocking stuffer. Nice heavy piece of wood for paint brushes. Will not tip over when in use. Nicely stained. Unique.

This is very pretty but too high. Brushes just slide off.

My son is an artist and recently took up calligraphy as a side hobby. He really likes antiques and old style tools etc. He loved these whale pen rests. They reminded him of the Moby Dick story. Great quality, heavy and nicely done. I was very pleased with the craftsmanship and simple design. Great price too.

This is such a simple, yet beautiful rest for my dip pens! It has a wide enough base that it won't get knocked over easily (I am pretty clutzy, so this is important for me) and I can have multiple pens or brushes out at a time so I can switch between tools easily.Something that appeals to me personally is the texture of the wood. It is smooth and feels really good to the touch. I am big on the feel of things, since I am very tactile in general, so this was a bonus. That also means it won't scratch up any fancy pens or brushes you use.

I personally like the look of this, and it looks like the pic. It is very slippery - I find my watercolor brushes slipping off when I set them in. Just not the best for smaller/thinner brushes.
