This instrument was OK to find out if my son was serious about trombone. It corroded and is no longer usable. I bought it at the start of 7th grade and made him finish out 8th grade but I should have replaced it at the start of the year. His 8th grade year he struggled with the slide not moving very smoothly. I didnt realize the spit valve had completely corroded out and he was using candy bar wrappers to help fill the hole. I don't think it was because of his maintenance either. It's just not that high quality. The handles to the bag ripped right away and he held the bag under his arm, although, he is a crosscountry runner and would run to school with it often so he could have been harder on those handles than most. If you plan on playing a long time, buy something a little higher quality than this.

This is the email I received from my son's band teacher, and his best friend in class went through the same exact thing, because we both purchased the same trombone from this seller!"Today in ____'s band lesson, we went to oil his slide because it was super stiff. When we went to put oil on, we noticed that the whole bottom half of his slide had rust on it, coming from a welded joint at the bottom of the trombone. This was very concerning, as it typically takes years of not being used and storing in a damp environment for this to happen. I then went to clean the rust off the slide, and when I took the slide casing off, the inside of bottom of the slide had mold and evidence of deteriorating metal. I am not sure where this trombone is from, but by the state of it, it is not going to last very long, and I am concerned about him playing and instrument that had mold and metal deterioration. I have never seen anything like this before on a new instrument, and I am wondering if the slide/trombone is not made out of the correct type of metal. The rust and deterioration of metal have nothing to do with his care of the instrument. I believe it is just not made out of the correct material. My recommendation would be, if you are able, would be to look into getting a different trombone from one of the local music stores. I understand that this may be hard, but I would rather be safe than sorry as I do not know what breathing in the materials, I cleaned out of his slide could do to his health. Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions."We then went and purchased a used trombone for over $300 at a music store 😔

The trombone slide is scratchy when you move it and it gets stuck easily. Have tried many things to fix it but I can't. The tone is nice but the sticky scratchy slide makes it hard to play. The case it comes with is nice and high quality.

Purchased a trombone for my grandson. Slide didn’t work when received. Sleeves were bent and rippled. Slide would barely move. After making contact with the company their rep said she would send a new sleeve and slide. Four months went by and no sleeve and slide. So I wrote a review, and i got an email from Kyra, a different company rep. And within one week I received a new trombone. Opened the case and the slide works perfect. To test the slide I unlocked the slide and put the end of the slide on the floor. Then raised the slide up vertically by the cross bar nearest the mouthpiece. The slide should remain on the floor and move smoothly up and down. The new trombone is perfect.I’m very impressed and happy with this trombone, and Kyra.Thank You,GaryRetired band director
