It works. Fairly easy to install, although I did buy a length of pipe and some fittings to reach my barrel. 1” plastic irrigation pipe fit.

We installed a rain barrel and used the diverter. Worked great.

Very complete kit. Easy install. Very good quality. Bought a long 1 inch washing machine hose and extended the supplied hose by about 6 feet to move rain barrels away from house and prevent back splashing from rain. Works beautifully. Both barrels now full. Recommend highly.

So I had purchased a bunch of downspout parts planning to reconfigure it to work with my rain barrel which, as can be seen from photo, is around the corner from downspout. I decided to look on Amazon one more time using different search words as I figured there must be something exactly for this purpose. “Diverter” was the magic term that brought me to this product page. I read the reviews and looked at similar products with a little bit lower price point. I decided to try this product due to the great reviews and the fact that it included everything I needed.First of all, I cannot emphasize enough how perfect the instructions are: not only are they clear and concise but are written in large font panels that open up. No need for a magnifying glass nor an English-as-a-second-language decoder ring to figure out how to proceed.Installation went smoothly and quickly as a result and I could not be more pleased with the result. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Planning ahead for dry spells. I found an abandoned rain barrel. All I needed was some way to divert the water from our rain gutters. I found several diverters on the market. I thought EarthMinded had the easier kit to implement. The kit came with two hole saws; one for the gutter and one for the gutter. I just attached the appropriate bit to my cordless drill and had no problems cutting a nice hole. The diverter is rubber and just needed to squeezed in. I should have measured the length of the hose before cutting the hole, but it all worked. I opted not to cut a hole in my barrel. I wished it came with a longer hose, so I could move for backup rain collection. I can't wait for the first rain. Remember to let it run off for 10 minutes before collecting (though this water is for the garden and not for drinking).

I really like this product, it had everything needed to divert water from the downspout to my rain barrel and was super easy to install. It took twice as long for me to install as it should have only because I reread the directions many times so I did not mess it up (the instructions are very clear, it is just me being extremely careful). My only reason for not giving this product 5 stars is because it is advertised as fitting both 2X3 and 3X4 downspout, but it wasn't until reading the actual package and the asterisked print that it stated "water collection in reduced in 3X4 downspouts". The piece that fits into the gutter is really designed for 2X3 downspouts and will work in 3X4, I just would have liked it to have been more clear about the reduced water collection in 3X4 downspouts.

The EarthMinded FlexiFit Universal Diverter System was straightforward to install and has worked as advertised this summer. I haven't yet tried to winterize the system. I would recommend setting up your rain barrel in advance in the position and at the exact height you want before installing the diverter, as your ability to change the setup afterward will be pretty limited. I would also read the instructions through completely before starting the installation (as is also recommended in the instructions). I did have an issue with the smaller hole saw loosening up on my drill head when cutting into my plastic barrel (former olive barrel). I am not sure whether I just failed to tighten the hole saw properly or whether the barrel was overly thick. In any event, I was able to cut the hole in one try despite the saw loosening up. There may be some very small leakage around the hole in the downspout adjacent to the ribs/grooves in the downspout wall. I gently filed off the rough edges of the hole in the downspout in an effort to help reduce potential damage to the rubber diverter when it is time to remove the diverter from the downspout to winterize the system.
