The JGB Enterprises Racking Cane Filter is a simple but effective screen that works very well when racking with whole hops, oak, or fruit in the fermenter. Simply slide this over the bottom of the racking cane and begin the siphon. Made from stainless steel. Note- You may want to use a hose clamp to tighten this to the racking cane. Designed to fit over a 3/8" racking cane.

This product is good quality. But it does not fit a normal sized siphon at all. Sending back because it couldn't be used in any way. Tried it on tubing also and still too small. They really need to add the sizing info in this listing.

Nicely made. Pinched the top to get it to hold on to the down tube. Now my beer pours nicely

I was thinking this would fit a standard racking cane, therefore it would easily fit my 3/8" racking cane. Well, technically, it does, but also, not. You see, it fits precisely over the stainless racking cane TUBE, and the tip, also made of stainless, with little springy things inside to make it stick onto the stainless tube, also fits (just) over the screen. However, as a person who racks things with berry pulp, etc, I can tell you that what works is a screen on the OUTSIDE of the tip (the only time I take the tip off is when I'm bottling as I bottle from carboy with an All in One wine pump.)I'll give this thing a shot, but I believe it is going to clog, making me resort to my racking cane prefilter tube, which does work, but is a pain. That prefilter tube (which is what I thought this here filter would replace) consists of an autosiphon tube, with many 1/8" holes drilled in it, and a flat end cap, and around that I put a semi-coarse nylon mesh. I then insert the racking cane (with tip) The mesh stops the berry bits, and the myriad holes in the bigger tube keep the berry bits from clogging the outer tube. I can still siphon right down to the lees.So .. I'll keep looking for something. This screen is well made, but the description does not indicate size, which is why I demoted it. I would not have purchased it had they specified size.

Bought this for the dip tube inside a kombucha keg to prevent clogging. Its slightly larger than the tube but with the dip tube being very low in the keg it stays on no problem; even with shaking and flipping to dissolve sugar. Kept keg running smooth until the last drop. No corrosion after many months of use at 3.5ph.

Way too small to use on a standard racking cane.

Nice screen. It didn't fit over my siphone tubing which is 3/8 but was able to flare the end of it and slice the tubing to slide it on a little where it stayed.
