Poor execution on the product I received. The sanitary filter included with my Sterile Siphon required an incredible amount of force to push anything through it at all. I was wholly unable even come close to starting the siphon using it. I had a spare in-line sanitary filter from my aeration system that I tried as well and that worked just fine. While the beer was racking out of the carboy I replaced the filter I provided with the filter that was sold with this product and that slowed the transfer to a halt within a minute or so (the vacuum being created by the transferred volume of liquid was unable to pull anything though the included filter as well). I let it sit for 30 minutes and saw no volume transfer during this time, the moment I pulled the sanitary filter off I heard a whoosh of air being sucked into the carboy and the transfer resumed immediately...Long story short, the included sanitary filter on the delivered product was almost impossible to put air through. The sanitary filter from my aeration system saved the day.

Works significantly better than the auto siphons I used to use, I was very surprised how easy it was to get beer flowing. Seems a lot more durable as well, I had issues with the autosiphons cracking over time.

The sanitary filter doesn't let enough air through to actually start the siphon. I blew so hard I actually got light headed and fell over, knocking over my frustratingly empty corny keg but also thankfully not pulling a full glass carboy down onto myself. Advice: when your wife says "don't make yourself pass out", listen to her. After I came back to my senses I picked up the keg, removed the filter, and just blew directly into it, and the siphon started very easily with very little effort. I ordered a replacement filter from another vendor to see if it works any better, but needless to say I was disappointed that using this product for the first time was so difficult, and resulted in an "I told you so" moment with my wife that I will literally never hear the end of for the rest of my life.

I have suffered long enough without a decent siphon and glad I got this unit. I have only used it 3 times, but so far it works great and is easy to get started. No issue, easy to clean, and so basic I can't image much going wrong.

Works as advertised but I was surprised at how much force was required to get the beer flowing. Someone with lung disease might have trouble with this though they probably shouldn't be drinking anyway! Also had to have the recipient bottle lower than anticipated and the flow was quite fast so it would be nice to have one of those plastic clamps on the tubing to adjust the flow and help in getting it started as pinching the tube does not work as well as one would hope.

Everything worked as expected. Only real drawback is that the included vinyl hose is a little short, especially due to the fact that it maintains coiled shape a bit. I had a hard time keeping the hose at the bottom of my bottling bucket (which increases the chances of oxidation). Not a problem now that I know to expect it...and I have a longer tube that will work as well.
