This thing is just what I needed and it is obviously industrial quality way way light years better than your average stick mixer. Like the thumb control to vary the speed, the only thing i might like more is a button that stays on without pressing it to keep it running but in the end i don't see that being an issue because it works so well and so fast and you do have very precise control over the mixing with the variable speed control and the button control plus probably safer that it won't just stay on when you are not holding it so I understand the reason for that. This is an industrial quality mixer, the body, cord, everything is just something that looks like it will last for decades really, plus all the equipment from Dynamic and history they have I like the fact that it is made by a long established company with a huge product line up so getting any parts will be easy. It comes with three extra blades and a color coordinated screwdriver to replace them which again it is great quality

I wanted a professional immersion stick blender--I lost confidence a long time ago in anything for home kitchens with a motor sold under the names Cuisinart, KitchenAid, Krups, et al. I'm not even willing to pay All Clad's steep price for its home immersion blender, though I've happily paid the steep prices for All Clad pots and pans. So, when Amazon gift cards were burning a hole in my pocket, and the professional Waring short stick was unavailable, I ordered the Dynamic. It is easy to handle, and I'm petite. I find the variable speed dial superior to the rudimentary "High" "Low" options on most other sticks. I appreciate the weighty, three-pronged cord. The motor section can be released from the stick for easier washing. Three extra blades are included for different kinds of jobs, e.g., a food mill blade is included. These are easily interchanged using the orange-handled screwdriver, also included. No instructions are included, but if you can't figure out how to use it on your own, you probably shouldn't have a professional piece of equipment in the first place. Performance is terrific--it makes short work of every soup and sauce I've blended. And that bodes well for the life of the motor. Finally, I am completely charmed by the sunny orange color.

This replaces a Viking immersion blender which was never up to the task, didn't do good work, and which always felt like it was at the point of failing. Every time I used the Viking, it always made me wonder whether this would be the time that an under-engineered piece of junk was going to fly apart. The Mini-Pro, in contrast, feels like a competent tool — I can concentrate on the task, the technique, and the desired result. The only thing I don't like about it is that the blade change is by means of a small screwdriver and a grub screw. Infrequent blade changes are probably the norm in a production environment, where a Mini-Pro is used to make the daily mayonnaise, for instance, but I want to chop today, emulsify tomorrow morning, and liquify tomorrow afternoon. I'm a little worried about the long-term viability of the change mechanism. Perhaps I'm being too pessimistic; the rest of the device is overbuilt, so maybe the set screw mechanism will last for thousands of blade changes. Hopefully, I'll post a followup review in 10 years, saying that my fears were not warranted. This paragraph is a followup report, and is being written in May 2018, two years after I posted my initial 2016 review. I'll say that the screw blade-changing mechanism feels as solid and as secure now as it did when I first bought the device. I'd guess that I've changed the blade about 20 times over the two years. However, I've lowered my rating by one star, because the manufacturer (not the seller, whom I've never tried to contact) has totally ignored my two emailed requests for help and advice. Therefore, the device itself is quite good, but after-sales support stinks.

The MiniPro is a fantastic immersion blender. Love the power of blender and also the dynamic speed control. I picked up it up Aug of 2011 and have had no issues with it. I had looked at Bamix professional, but ended up with Dynamic MiniPro, felt like more solid product for the money. Features I really like about it is the detachable shafts for cleaning and the support of accessories. I also picked up the mixer attachment which remove one more piece of equipment from my kitchen. ( Just saw the Potato Ricer/Food Mill) Both removable Shaft and Mixer attachment bell are meticulously milled and polished. With Solid attachment bender motor body. Second is the ability unlimited control of the motor rpm performance. One thing to note this Immersion blender has ideal maximum workload of 3 Gallons . So if your workload is greater then this I would step up to the next size and get Dynamix Junior ( 6.5 Gallon workload) or Senior ( 10 Gallon workload Immersion blenders. One thing that is big upgrade in the Junior and Senior is shafts leverage a bearing vs the MiniPro which uses a bushing. Also I have not seen the issue with cord as other reviewer talked about, The cord is solid it is more like what you would see on professional power tools like Milwaukee, DeWalt and Hitachi. I have the straight cord not the curled cord. The unit is highly serviceable. Note the Diagram showing the exploded view of the all the part that order-able for service. You could replace the motor if you needed too. Nice in the day of disposable products.[...] ( price list of replacement part also here)
