Not anything special, but I do like the thin thin wall and the 360° swivel when you need a little wiggle room when removing or replacing spark plugs. The magnet holds the spark plug, but would still recommend gingerly moving the socket retaining the spark plug. I typically prefer a 6 point socket when needing to exert a high torque, but for spark plugs, 12 point socket is fine.

Here’s a personalized review for the 5/8 Swivel Magnet Spark Plug Socket:I recently picked up the 5/8 Swivel Magnet Spark Plug Socket with the long extension, and I’m really impressed with how well it works. It makes getting to spark plugs in tough-to-reach spots so much easier, especially when they're in hard-to-angle places. The swivel action lets me get the perfect angle every time, and the magnet is a great featur, it holds onto the spark plug firmly, so I don’t have to worry about it dropping. The long extension gives me the extra reach I need for those tricky spots. This tool has definitely made spark plug changes a lot less of a hassle!

I was impressed with how well made this tool is. I've been fairly impressed with duratechs products as a professional technician overall. This is a 14mm thin 12 point spark plug socket, this will fit and work with regular 6 point spark plugs. The magnet is reasonably strong and will remove the plug from the tubes. The swivel is not pinned, it is a hex shape which gives it slightly more articulation. Most newer vehicles these days are using smaller 14mm spark plug sockets...and they're often at angles in the spark plug tubes these days. If you do your own maintenance I highly recommend you give this product a try. It's a great price for what you get.

This would get 5 stars if it were actually a 6 point socket. I do not love the idea of using a 12 point on something so critical that if it rounds off you are screwed. Definitely would not use this if the spark plug is compromised in any way, such as rusted.HOWEVER, this thing is really nice... the magnet holds tight enough but will release when you want it which is much nicer than the stupid rubber plug you normally get. The swivel works well, no binding and allows you to get into the harder to reach areas. Love this socket.

This review is on the 5/8” spark plug socket from DURATECH. The images show details of the socket after removing it from the package and installed on one of my mower spark plugs. The listing provides a good overview of the features of this socket. It’s manufactured with quality and precision in mind and I did not find any issues or flaws. The most relevant feature in my opinion is the fact that it has a thin wall, 12 point, and a magnetic along rubber insert for the prevention of dropping and breakage of spark plugs. The extension is not removable but allows for smooth rotation and torque. This design also allows for access to tight areas that are difficult for spark plug removal. If you are looking for a tool that makes the task of changing spark plugs easier I would recommend taking a look at this tool from DURATECH!
