I bought this Dungeons & Dragons mat for my son, who plays with his friends once a week, and it has made a huge difference in their gaming experience. This mat has become an essential part of their sessions, bringing more fun and creativity to the table.Pros: • Durable and High-Quality: The material is tough and easy to clean, which is perfect since it gets a lot of use during their weekly games. • Clear Grid Design: The grid lines are precise, making it simple for my son and his friends to manage their characters and actions during intense moments. • Boosts Creativity: This mat really enhances their ability to create custom maps and scenarios. I love seeing how the game challenges their thinking and sparks their imagination. • Perfect Size for Group Play: The mat is spacious enough for all their gaming action, without overwhelming the table space, making it ideal for group sessions.

I'd have the entire D&D Map on the hexagon side and would always change the square side to fit whichever town, dungeon, etc, they find themselves in. The board worked well and can easily be folded up to fit in my backpack.

There are dozens of erasable battle mats available, ranging widely in size and price. I chose Evergame for its reasonable price and generally positive reviews, and I was not disappointed. In fact, I was mildly surprised, then reminiscent for a little while, and finally settled into delighted.I feel unusually compelled to mention the quality of the packaging. I mean ... who doesn't love a vacuum sealed box that weighs in at around a 6mo old Cocker Spaniel puppy? And the graphics conjure up old memories of browsing the gaming aisle at Walden Books, being reminiscent of that era.The map itself is of very good quality and durability. It cleans easily, folds easily, and ought to last a long time. It comes with a small assortment of dry erase markers, a full-size eraser, and even a set of dragon dice; what a nice touch!Any 10 year old kid who likes this stuff would absolutely love unwrapping this on his or her birthday. And I feel like my 46 years of experience as a 10 year old qualifies that statement.I don't often write reviews, but this product got my attention. It's simple fun done well.

I have used this map every week and many weekends running games at cons where it has been absolutely abused and it has held up incredibly well. I am about to buy my second one and figured I would drop a review. The way it folds it will absolutely snap down the middle with regular use. The board is thick enough that this is not an issue, but it does eventually cause the edges to fray and peel.

Nice packaging makes this a great gift for tabletop gamers of RPGs. But what makes it a very good gift is that you don't have to know exactly what the person already has or what system she or he uses. The squares on one side and hexes on the other make it usable in every system. And while many people have battle mats already, they don't have them in this size with this kind of portability. The game board itself is made of similar material as a DM screen -- thick and firm, with a somewhat shiny coating. Normally we use a roll out battle mat that also has squares on one side and hexes on another. That roll out mat has stains on it, especially from red markers, so I tested a red dry erase and a red wet erase on this one. The dry erase wiped off easily, and the wet erase did, too, after adding water.Since this folds up much smaller than a roll out mat, and is indeed much smaller when folded out, it's great for quick on-the-spot sketches of locations. If your group is more about theater-of-the-mind, this mat helps with complicated battles where position and numbers are hard to track mentally. And it does so without needing a lot of table space. And it can actually be transported in regular backpacks, unlike the roll out kind. Plus, it always lays flat and doesn't have curled edges that rolled mats do.I also used it in Mansions of Madness to help lay the tiles. I have playmats (like for Magic: the Gathering) laid all around it that are about the same thickness. This way the tiles are nicely lined up in the beginning, which makes it easier to lay the tiles later. I almost used it as a replacement tile when we had a room open up that we couldn't find in our collection. I could have just drawn the main lines and shape directly on the grid and placed it underneath, no problem. The firmness of the board also means it's a lot easier to use on carpeted floors than the roll out mat kind. I plan on taking mine to GenCon. That way we can play wherever, not have to go around looking for a place to sit with a table. It would even work pretty decently on a bed, I think. This game board also came with a lovely set of polyhedral dice with the #1 most important characteristic of dice: readability. They are black with a dark gray marbling and crisp white numbers. It also came with a dry eraser, a set of 4 markers with eraser tips on the caps, and a little squirty bottle for putting water in for wet erase.Overall, this is a good gift for any tabletop gamer, even one that already has a classic battle mat.
