They seem to be well made. The problem is that they are a little small. I couldn't even get one on my hen with bumblefoot, much less have a bit of gauze for medication. I wouldn't buy again and they weren't cheap plus had a shipping charge.

I have a hen that has chronic bumble foot (the only one in the flock that gets it). I have been using vet wrap and it is costly and time consuming. I bought these boots and they work great! She actually walks so much better when they are on! Highly recommend!

My vet recommended these booties to help my hen heal from bumblefoot. I trimmed the end of the toes just a smidge to help get the booties on easier. I replace the bootie daily, sometimes twice a day if needed, so it's good to have a couple of pairs on hand. They're easy to wash in the sink (I use warm water and unscented detergent) and they air dry over night. They're working great, they provide a soft and protective cushion which helps the foot heal faster. We're very happy with these booties and highly recommend to anyone with chickens.

For one they did not fit and they were also not designed for a chicken. There is a slit for back toe that’s not even lined up where it should be. For $33 I could have tried something else now I’m stuck with these. I do not recommend getting these shop anywhere but here and get measurements. These had measurements and still didn’t fit.

There is no fault with the Booties. They are well constructed and fit my duck. I was hoping that it would help with the healing process of bumblefoot/infection on one of the duck's toes. The boot did not provide enough structure/support for the situation. Since it is spring here, and rains a lot here, her foot, after a day in the boot, looked like she had been in a tub for 24 hours, all shriveled and pruny. The gauze was still in place while inside the bootie, but was soaked and it was obvious that the duck was in a lot of pain as well as the infected site had gotten a little more swollen. It was a step backwards in the healing process. Going back to what I was doing using thin layers of a pool noodle glued to a round disk of corrugated plastic sign board that I attach to the bottom of the duck's foot with Vet wrap. The duck is able to walk better with the cushion plus firm structure under her webbed foot, has less pain, and can keep up with her buddies. Once the infection subsides, I might be able to use the booties to prevent further chance of injury to her feet? Just not going to work at this point of the healing process.

I rarely write reviews, however when a product is unique and this helpful it seems appropriate. My Sanjack Longcrower hen dislocated her knee when her foot slipped through slats on the coop ladder causing her to panic. I called the vet and immediately followed her instructions to adjust the joint and splint the knee, but while the hen could walk, she dragged her foot or walked on her 'knuckles'. The Birdy Bootie remedied this. The hen has been able to remain with her flock mates, who have accepted her newfound fashion statement without any ruffled feathers or undo interest. This is a large hen with long legs and toes. The Birdy Bootie fits well with no adjustment needed. She has been wearing it for a week now without incident, it stays in place and is easy to put on and remove. I have only needed to wipe the exterior with a damp cloth so far. For me and silly Lily this product was the answer to the problem.I do recommend watching the provided 'How to Put the Birdy Bootie Protective Shoe on Your Chicken' video provided by the seller. We have replaced the coop ladder with a wider, solid backed unit for the silly Sanjacks.

My Rhode Island Red Henrietta would like to say cooh cooh cooh for helping her foot! My vet recommended this product after finding Bumblefoot on her right foot. The shoe goes on very easily and is very sturdy. The Velcro straps are convenient and you can adjust the fit to just the right pressure for your bird baby. I put the shoe on her foot and took it off once a week to check on it and clean it. After three weeks, the bumble foot was gone! The boot material is antimicrobial and kept her foot clean and odor free! I also love how it comes in a variety of colors. At first she didn't want to wear the boot around her chicken sisters and acted embarrassed, but I complimented her a lot and said it made her look like a princess, and she was strutting around showing off in no time! Thanks so much for this bootie! It made Henrietta feel so much better!

My duck has a bad case of bumblefoot and we have been wrapping her feet everyday while we waited for these to arrive. Once the booties arrived I was excited to try them out. It is apparent that they are well made using quality materials. In person, the size looked right for my duck. I was worried the ointment-slathered bandage would slide off inside the shoe since it normally has vet wrap securing it to the foot. We put her to bed and the next morning one of the shoes was off, bandaid inside. We tried it again and when I got home from work the same shoe had fallen off. Tonight I decided to give up on the shoes and wrap her feet as I did before. I tried putting the shoes on my other duck who is slightly bigger, a beefy golden 300. When we put her down she couldn't stand up. We think she had trouble because she couldn't get traction but maybe she was just being dramatic. Once she was able to take a step to get into her coop, the right shoe flew off immediately. I'm giving these 4 stars because I believe, for the right duck, these would be perfect. I have decided to buy the smaller size to see if it fits better. It is also possible I'm not tightening them enough but with the way the velcro is positioned, it seems I am using them as intended. I included a picture of my golden 300 for reference on the foot/ankle size.
