I used this to connect a old HP vs17o monitor to a raspberry pi4 with the HDMI output. I didn't test the frame rate but streaming video looks good (use a 64 bit OS) and the audio output sounds good and is in stereo. The monitor has 1280x1024 native resolution.

The boss has a older VGA projector and his older laptop has VGA out and the pair did the job for presentations. Then he replaced his laptop with one that has HDMI out... This along with an HDMI cable scratched his itch.

Do not buy this adaptor. this adapter came broken when i tired to use it for my speakers for the audio input, had a real nightmare trying to screw it into my monitor and when i finally had it screwed in it didn’t work on my speaker, in the process of trying to unscrew it it damaged my vga cable on my monitor, so now i’m back to looking for a new monitor thanks a lot

Does the product work? Yes... if you can keep it in one piece long enough to connect it and never plan to touch it again. I connected this adapter to an HDMI monitor to convert the signal coming from an older VGA over Cat5 splitter/extender. It worked well for two or three days until the weight of the cable hanging from the back of the adapter caused the plastic shell of the adapter to break apart, leaving the cable essentially hanging from the circuit board inside the adapter. I had to super glue the housing back together in hopes that it would hold long enough to give me time to order a better quality adapter. It didn't. Total waste of money and time.
