It is a condenser that unscrews with a top that has a hole able to handle up to six strings. Twist them together and tie a knot. That knot will not be able to go back through the hole. The bottom has a hole able to take the rope I think 1.8 mm. Again a knot. Twist the top and bottom together. All you have left is cutting theRope to length slip the knob on double knot it.Test it. Raise the blinds and lower. It’s easy about 15 minutes.

I’m using these to add length to my Venetian blind cords. Not for raising and lowering which would put a lot of stress on these but to open and close the blinds to allow lighting in. So these worked great for me. The blinds installer cut my cord lengths too short so I got tired of standing on my tiptoes trying to grab them. We also don’t have little children around to get hung up on long cords…

Needed cord condensers for my cabin, I have 6 blinds, various rooms, needed to organize. These worked fine, easy to install and haven't fallen apart. I would buy these again.

This works perfectly for tying to pieces of blind cord back together. Tie small knots as the casing isn’t large!

I installed these on some double wide heavy wood blinds. They are holding up well and look neat. Wasn't sure they would stand up to the load but was pleasantly surprised. Have been up several weeks, will edit my review if they fail.UPDATED 12/4/23The condensers on the wide blinds covering three windows popped open. I super glued the halves together, let them dry overnight and I can use them very gently. First pull brings the condenser down where I can reach the cord above it and then I use the cord to pull up the blinds. I don't use them every day, either. Just open the blinds at an angle to prevent sunlight from bleaching art work. They are fine for single windows but wider spans with heavy wood blinds need a heavy duty condenser. I really like the small compact size but they don't have the heft for more than one window. Have worked fine in other windows that I open daily.

For starters, this is very expensive for what it is, however they know they can mark up their item because I cannot find anything remotely close anywhere! Not Home Depot, Lowes, anywhere. I really needed them so I just bit the bullet for paying almost $10 ($3.17 each) for these. Unless I just don't know what these are called I couldn't figure out where to find them and I just happen to find these on amazon. There are some pros and cons to them. Let me start with the Pros.Pros1. Easy to install - kind of.I had a blind that had unaffected cords, so it was easy, just slipped the top through the three strings, tied a knot, chose one to keep long and cut the other two. Screwed the two pieces back together and worked great! The issue I ran into were two things, if you have a blind that only has two cords, make sure you tie a big enough knot or it will pull through the top. If you have a cord that's already cut and you have to add length, you're going to have to skip the two pieces on then tie your pieces together then screw it. Don't rely on the pieces to hold together well enough to hold the weight.2. Looks great! So much better and made my blinds more functional however there is a slight catch, which I will have in the cons list.Cons1. The first con is if you have faux wood blinds that are heavy and big like the one pictured, be careful before you yank in the cord. If you have all three strings like you're supposed to, it should be fine. But if you had cords like mine that I had to add length to, it won't work UNLESS you tie them all together. If you only have two strings, make sure your knot is big enough that it doesn't pull through. The item isnt great quality so even though it's screwed together, it doesn't hold well. And can get separated if you're not tying the cords all together.2. Obviously the price, so over priced! Definitely should have been like $5 and I would rave about these things to everyone I know.Overall they work, just need some creative ideas if you're trying to add length to your cord.

Compared to other cord condensers that have structure to hold cords individually, these are super-simple. They are basically a light plastic egg with a hole in the top and bottom to hide the knot after you tie all of your cords togeather.4-stars because the description is actually honest and clear, but low quality compared to what I was expecting based on what was on the blinds initially. There is very little online choice in Canada, so maybe visit you local blind store if you want something more (... I did eventually).

I have been looking for a simple cord condenser/reducer replacement for the ones that have broken (from years of use) from our BlindsAreUs pleated blinds. These Dritz Condensers do the trick. The one thing they don't provide are the #6 and #8 nylon washers (from Home Depot) I used to tie the cord ends and slip inside the condensers. Check out the How-To video for these condensers on YouTube.
