I'm not using these thimbles much. They aren't useful for sewing as they don't provide power for pushing needles through. They do protect fingers from burning when using an iron close to your fingers, but I've not found them to protect at all from steam. The heat of the steam is very much felt inside the thimbles.

Some of my quilting friends love these so had to give them a try. They work great. Saves my fingers from burning

Really helps with all the pressing involved in sewing - prior to getting these I had a lot of finger scalds. Thin enough to manipulate material. Comfortable to wear.

I think I’m disappointed in these. They are no more thermal than I’m the man in the moon! I may as well have just used bank tellers rubber fingers for money counting. Heat from iron still penetrates these and I think you just pay for the name and gimmick.

Worked with hot glue and they worked. Do wish thimble manufactures would opt for dialing the size back a bit. Fell off my fingers as larger than expected. I am not a petite person by any means with averaged size fingers with arthritis so loose on me. I might try putting double face tape on fingers so thimbles will stick. Would I suggest fir a friend? Yes

Los estoy usando para bordar, me encantan por flexibles y me protegen los dedos tanto de la punta como de la cabeza de la aguja

Très bien pour l’utilisation tricot. J.avais un doigt douloureux et ça m’a permis de continuer le pull commencé.

I loved the idea of these but the only thing they help with is to keep the hot glue off my fingers. They do not protect you from the heat so much.

I wish I had come across these years ago! These are wonderful at protecting my fingers when I need to iron something while holding it down. These thimbles aren't completely immune to heat of course, but are protective enough that I haven't come close to sacrificing my fingers. The only thing that I don't like about them is that they are HUGE. I expected this, as I have very small hands and very skinny fingers, but they're large enough to fall off if I'm not paying close enough attention. That said, the large size makes them easy to slip on and off. Overall, I'm very pleased!!

These were recommended by a sewist online and they are fantastic for ironing into little corners. I was fed up with getting steam burns or playing chicken with the steam burst. These finger protectors really do protect the fingers and thumb. Of course, you still have to pay attention and be careful but these do an excellent job of protecting and you get better ironing results, as well.

I really wasn't expecting much from these but they turned out to be quite effective against the heat. I use them to handle hot glue with my fingers. I just couldn't stand the burns and blisters anymore. I wasn't expecting them to work as well as they do. You feel warmth through them but not heat. The 3 sizes worked well for me. My fingers are small so I used the smallest on my index finger and the medium on my thumb. The larger one intended for most thumbs was too big for me. I think small and medium hands will be very happy with these. Large hands might find they fit a little snug but if you're not working for hours on end, it should do the job.

These work great and I ordered another 2 sets for my left hand even though I'm a righty. When using hot glue gun, they come in very handy when im pressing and as much as i try to avoid touching the scalding glue, some leaks out the sides and that is plenty painful. These thimbles are are very well made. Ii think it's silicone. Soft and durable. As i press the glued item, any excess glue goes on the thimbles smoothly, without pulling your project apart. Best of all, excess glue slides off the thimble. No more peeling off of burnt fingers. I think they are very reasonably priced. Well worth it Don't know how I lived without them for so long.

You know, for some reason I've always had thin-skinned fingertips. They have always burned easily, and with as much steaming as I do with sewing various things, it was a constant issue.I never even knew these things existed until I stumbled upon them in a Nancy's Notions catalog. I am thrilled with them. I did buy the little "stiletto" but sometimes you just have to get your fingers in there so these are truly perfect for my poor fingers.BUY THESE if you fingertips are thin like mine and you're constantly going "ouch" when you steam iron. I don't think you'll be sorry. This is a set of three and they all three fit my thumb, index and middle finger, respectively (with a little bit of tugging on the smallest one).Hope this helps, teri b
