4oz sinker was bit bigger than I thought, but will work fine with my big 80lb line surf fishing gear.Great value at 4 packs.Tested out and works well with my rig.

These are very nice weights and they do work well for fishing. The smooth ball end makes it less likely to snag your line, the casting is fairly smooth. On pyramid shaped weights, sometimes the casting can be rough and the tip has a bit of a snag or point on it that catches the line, those abrasions can cost you your weight or whole rig. In that regard, these weights are very nice and will help prolong your gear and tackle in rough waters like surf fishing. You should note though that saltwater fishing will erode your gear and lead will take on a rough texture in the surf regardless of the design or quality of casting, so this may not last. So far they have stayed smooth for me though, after a couple of hours in the surf. The price is a bit much for 4 oz weights, not exorbitantly expensive but definitely a couple bucks above the normal 5 packs of 4 oz weights that I usually buy. I suppose the value is in the proprietary design, which I can appreciate. The marketing is also a little ridiculous for these weights. The seller claims "Storm sinker can impale fish when it lands in a school," you will not catch a fish by impaling it on weights, nor would this sinker impale a fish without extra effort. I also don't believe it adds all that much to retention on the bottom, the pictures show it sinking tip-first like an arrow but that isn't how they seem to act in reality. The design is very nice despite the marketing gimmicks, and some people might find it worth the extra couple bucks just for the fact that it saves your line.Overall I think these are a good value despite being a little pricier. There is some functional advantage being gained for the price, however be aware that the salt and sand will eat away at lead weights and cause pitting and roughness. The advantages will not last forever, and when they get rough after a season the line will snag just like normal pyramid weights.
