Really love these little torches. My old Portasol soldering/torch iron failed, couldn't fic it. Luckily I had the chance to use this torch from another coworker. AWESOME. On instantly good flame too. So I ordered the kit with both the torch unit and the soldering iron.No complaints , have used it about 10 times in a few month's so far. My uses are usually to release glues and retaining compounds on steel components, but I have also used the soldering iron, and the attachment for hot air to shrink heat shrink tubing. Works great and has a nice case that looks like a GIANT Sucrets/Altoids tin container.

This is a slick looking product. I was pleasantly surprised, it came in a nice metal case with a lot of attatchements. It is very easy to fill and the detatchable base fits well. It was a little confusing at first becasue of the different triggers and valves but if you watch a video it wont be a problem (I didn't read the directions I was too excited to use it).The only nitpick I have is the safety, because when you move it from right to left you have to move the "button" downard which worries me because it feels pretty breakable if you aren't too careful. It is surprisingly one handeable with enough skill/practice. Flame adjustment is a simple mechanism and easy enough to operate. If you're thinking about getting one of the cheaper options ($16-20) creme brulee torches I suggest saving up enough to just get the dremel. It feels nice and works perfect for my needs (silver soldering). I've only had it for a few days so I can't speak to the longevity of it, but it does have a 2 year warranty.

Typical Dremel quality. I use this thing for everything, from heat sealing shrink tubes to starting smoker tubes on the grill. Easy to refill. Design is almost perfect. Really happy with it.

I liked the stand foot that it came with. When you put it down it isn't top heavy. Easy to fill. I wish the trigger button wasn't so stiff. I know it's for safety, but it's tough on old hands. The flame is easy to control. I use it for soldering silver jewelry. Been using for a couple of days with no complaintWorth the money.

Works well for soldering. Doesn’t come with some versatips…I wanted the knife for hot cutting of plastics. Couldn’t find it anywhere and called Dremel, who told me the knife wouldn’t work with this one, that I had to buy the model over $100 for that. I said no, it’ll work on this model, and it did. Dremel’s butane torch line isn’t their most successful and supported, but they work well. Don’t buy the expensive one as the versatips fit this one at under half the price, unless the pen format is something you need for crafting.

Great torch, but fill valve leaks after a few months of heavy use. they want customer (me) to pay to ship it for repair. Ill buy 3 home depot torches for same price, they last a year or so of heavy use.Update 05/31/2016- tried to tighten the Schrader valve used at the fill point but it was tight. After a little finagling, I discovered that the valve gets off center every few fills, if you pop the fuel canister on and off a few times it will center the valve. Dangerous condition nevertheless, if you don't hear or feel the hissing gas from off kilter valve after filling and light unit, it will obviously burst into flames. I just put unit by my ear then smell bottom after filling before lighting. Front flame nozzle retainer screw inexplicably disappeared, the nozzle came out during a high flame project, unit burst into flames, almost started a fire in my shop. Since i am a lifelong volunteer firefighter I (stupidly) cupped the gaping hole where the flame nozzle used to be that was spewing a 3 foot orange fireball, with my hands and shook it like a baby that won't stop crying. It went out, never could find the tiny screw that secures the nozzle, nor could i find in my well equipped shop, an equivalent screw.Ceramic insulator split wen the flame nozzle hit the floor. The carburetion is off now with the piece missing so it won't light with the igniter.5 year warranty is not worth the keystrokes someone used to type it, since there is a litany of reasons that they will not honor warranty.
