Worked good, the price compared to an actual Ford kit makes it worth it.

This Camshaft Timing Tool Kit is an invaluable tool for working on the 2006 Mustang V6. This 8-piece kit is designed to handle camshaft timing with precision, making tasks like timing belt replacement and engine repairs more manageable. The tools are well-made, durable, and fit perfectly for the 4.0L SOHC V6 engine. The comprehensive set includes everything needed for accurate timing adjustments. Overall, it’s a great investment for DIY enthusiasts and professionals looking to perform timing-related repairs with confidence.

Used on a 04 Ford Explorer 4.0 v6 gas. The cam timing tools are trash. I bought the set so I could make sure they cams are timed perfectly, but they don't fit right. I thought maybe I was making a mistake then saw that a bunch of other people have had the same experience. I am willing to bet this set was manufactured wrong and was sent out anyway, and some people are getting this old stock while others might be getting the corrected version. Ordered another from a different vendor with no 1 stars hopefully that one will work.

It’s important to remember that the tool this was copied from is $850. The instructions included with the tool are next to useless. There is a YouTube video by Cloyes that is excellent. I’m a retired mechanic and I viewed that video four or five times. The cam lock tool included with this kit is just made wrong ( see pic) but it does work. The part that indexes to the cam sits higher than the tool body so that the included bolts for the top bar aren’t long enough. I used some longer 5mm screws tightened lightly. Other than that, it’s an excellent, affordable tool that allows you to time the camshafts. Without it, it would be extremely difficult or impossible. I put a dial indicator on number one piston to check the accuracy of the crank holding tool that mounts on the harmonic balancer and it’s spot on even though it doesn’t sit deeply in the notches. It wouldn’t cost the manufacturer anything to fix the cam lock issue and I hope they do but for $50 I recommend this tool

Bei der Verwendung ist aufgefallen, das die Verarbeitung an manchen Teilen nicht exakt so ist wie sie sein muss. Ansonsten aber zu gebrauchen, aber aufgrund der Qualität zu teuer.

Works but does not fit correctly the square bit does not slide down enough sits slighty above the other holder, just by 1/16 other way around different above the tool by 1/4 , it was the right way around poor quality control.

After seeing some of the issues others were having, I was almost reluctant to order this tool set. However, it was needed quickly, and since I was having to buy it to fix someone else's vehicle, cheap was a must. Make no mistake, this is very cheap for this type of set. While it is obviously not on the same level as an OTC set, everything is fairly solid. Don't expect much for instructions, which is something you really shouldn't need if you are attempting to do a job like this. Even high-end tools often don't come with instructions. It is expected that the purchaser knows what they are doing or has access to service information. I did allow some students to install the tools initially and it didn't look too good. I found that they didn't have the tools installed properly, and I am sure that is what has happened to most people that left bad reviews as it's easier to blame the tools than user error. I am not going to tell how to use the tools in a review, that would take some time. I will point out the main issue - the tool that bolts into the end of the camshaft and also fits into two slots. Those two slots are not centered and the tool will not fit properly into the slots if flipped 180 degrees. Make sure it fits flush before installing the bracket that bolts to the head. The bracket that bolts to the head has a small bar that bolts across the top. Remove it and install this last. Once we did that, everything worked perfectly.
