Saved a lot of money by refilling my own green cans versus buying new ones, let alone the recycle factor in not having to throw the old ones away. Makes it very easy to refill and no leaking in between.

I followed instructions and froze the tanks for a couple hours and then stuck them on, flipped it upside down and opened the valve. They filled up quickly and seem to get pretty full. Gotta be at least 80% full, possibly 90 - 95%. No longer have to buy and dispose of those green camping tanks and didn't have to buy a more expensive system with a bunch of extra components. This worksgreat.

I run my Mr buddy heater and bbq for camping a bunch and this makes it cheap to refill.Put it on, turn big tank upside down and open valve. Once it stops hissing turn off and purge it. Then do it another few times till it weighs about 2 lbs

The product is well made and no leaks when properly installed. HOWEVER, for this product to effectively transfer propane from a larger tank into the small one pound tank there needs to be a temperature differential between the two tanks with the smaller receiving tank considerably colder than the supply tank. I tried for the first time with the larger tank having been stored outside (45 degrees) and the smaller receiving one pound tank having been stored in my garage (55 degrees). What happened was the one pound tank (it had about 20% of fuel still in the tank) emptied into the larger tank. Videos say to chill the small receiving tank first but I wanted to try just to see what happens. The warmer of the two tanks will transfer propane into the colder of the two tanks. It's a good product that will work if one makes sure there is a temperature differential .... supply warm, receiving tank cold.

Works as intended. We're able to get Coleman camping tanks about 50-60% full with this adapter, using our propane tanks. Sure, it doesn't fill them up, but it's more than enough to stop the cycle of waste and keep the canisters usable. We bought (years ago) a four-pack of Coleman canisters. When they're empty we fill them back up using this and it's more than good enough.

I was unfamiliar with using propane and especially refilling the 1 lb bottles from a larger tank. This seemed like a decent price and the reviews were favorable. For anyone looking to do the same thing I do which is use a small propane heater which runs off of 1 lb tanks this is definitely a better value than buying pre-filled tanks. Attaching the large black knob end directly to the 20 lb tank is easy. It has a nice grip to it so it could be attached firmly. The 1lb tanks screw easily into the smaller brass side. I always make sure to snug it down and when removing it I just hold the brass fitting to loosen the tank slightly then the tank unscrews so that I keep my hands well away from any vented propane.I did purchase brass caps to put on the refill tanks in between uses. If you use those caps with a gasket inside of them be careful the gasket doesn't stick to the 1lb tank. If you attach a tank and that extra gasket gets in there, the valve won't completely open so it's more difficult to fill the 1 lb tank to capacity. Otherwise it's been a flawless process and I have saved a lot of money on propane. I just emptied the last of my first 20lb tank with no issues. The last bit doesn't want to come out quite as readily. Be sure to use the freezer technique on the 1lb tanks & have your large tank as warm as possible by sitting it in the sun etc & you should have no concerns. The greater the pressure deferential between the two the faster the transfer will be & your tanks will fill closer to their capacity.
