This little scanner is exactly what I was looking for. I set up a paperless-ngx server so that I could get rid of the giant stacks of paperwork in my office, and I needed a scanner to make that happen. The Doxie was very easy to set up, takes up next to no space when I'm not using it, and fits seamlessly into the paperless-ngx workflow.Double sided scanning makes crunching through a stack of paper fast and efficient. You do have to take care with the sheet feeder to prevent jamming, but no more so than with any other sheet feeder. The software is easy to use, and the "staple" feature makes it trivial to combine multiple scans into a single PDF.I considered a wireless model, but for my use case a USB cable was worth it to get the double sided scans, and it takes up very little space on my desk while in use.

I am shocked how easy this is to use and how quickly it scans in duplex. Super intuitive, I was scanning away within 5 minutes of set up. Did have to download the software first but once it was done (about 5 minutes) everything was fully functional with minimal effort. Clear scans, fast and relatively quiet and about the size of my keyboard so the foot print is pretty small. If you're on the fence, buy it; it's absolutely worth every dollar.

My initial impressions are very good. The hardware seems to be well designed. Case is plastic, but structurally the scanner seems rigid and not flimsy.I have scanned a couple of documents, one was a 10 page doc with some wrinkled pages. No issues, one page had a fold in it but it was not at the feed entrance so no probelm. The scanner is fast even at 300 dpi which seems to provide ample resolution, however it can go to 600 dpi.The second doc was a very glossy map that I had kicking areound my office for a couple of years. The pages wren't wrinkled but the surface was not really flat either. The result was the white areas were a little blotchy. This was easily fixed by setting the contrast boost button to Medium (software button), boosting the contrast slider to 18 and reducing the Gamma to 1.51. This is easily done in the software GUI. You don't have to rescan the document to adjust software settings. You can make changes and see the results in real time. Also before you do anything with the Contrast and Gamma hit the Auto Adjust button to automatically take any slight rotation out of the document. Also when you save the documents you can select jpg, png, pdfs and OCR'ed PDFs.Another cool thing is that the Doxie is a US based company, although my Doxie Pro hardware is made in Taiwan. They immediately send you an email asking about your satisfaction and offering help if you need it.So in summary, nice hardware combined with good and flexible software. It supports Windows and Mac.I do wish they had a Linux option as I am drifting away from Windows.

Doxie pro dx400 offers so many features -way beyond my expectation: several modes of scanning and can customize scanning mode yourself, and also one can fine-tune the final image...it might sound complex... but the Doxie manufacturer made everything so user-friendly. The manual instruction is super easy to follow. The box included two sets of cables (both USB-A and USB-C types) -- i actually have devices using both types of cables so this is so thoughtful from Doxie. The scanner's speed is really fast. Easy to bring the scanner with my laptop anywhere. One of the most satisfactory products I've purchased in recent years. Would recommend to my colleagues and friends.

I don't write reviews, but I can't help writing one for this scanner. I am a bookkeeper that travels to several clients. I love this scanner! I can easily scan any size receipt. I can scan front side only or double sided. I can scan longer receipts if I hold the control key. However super long receipts (20" or more) don't scan. but I can photocopy into smaller sections and scan. It saves to several different files (I mostly use PDF to attach into Qbooks online). It is so easy to use and reliable. It rarely jams on me, and if it does it is usually because the receipt is so crinkled that it is hard to scan. Also, I can scan a receipt upside down and turn it in the doxie system after. That takes care of 99% of my jam issues. I bought the travel case for it on Amazon too. Love that as well. It is compact and fits in my bag.My only negative comment is that I wish the cords for it were a bit longer. I usually pull up a chair for the scanner to be close enough to an outlet and my laptop. It works but sometimes it is awkward.Don't hesitate to purchase this if you are looking for a reliable scanner.

I hesitated to buy a scanner as I didn't want another piece of tech cluttering my desk, didn't want to spend money on something I maybe didn't need - as I could do flat-bed scanning on my printer. But I am so happy I did. I have so much paperwork from over the years, some of it still useful/important to keep. Being able to put it in the feeder, and for it to scan multiple pages, double sided, in no time, is a game changer for me. Really easy to set up and use, really tiny and quite cute on my desk, and saving me so much time.

Setting up the scanner is very straightforward. Some people might prefer to scan wirelessly, but I find from past experience that using a physical usb cable is best for reliability purposes. With the Doxie Pro, I don’t have to worry about the scanner disconnecting from the internet or my personal computer losing a connection to the scanner. I just have to plug in the usb cable, start the software and I’m good to go.I like how this scanner can scan multiple pages at once, scan front & back, and also have an option to scan thicker documents at the bottom. It’s pretty versatile. One small note is with the auto scan option, sometimes it will think there is a “2nd page” on the back of the page (when there isn’t) and end up scanning a blank page. Not a big deal since you can delete that blank page. The software itself is intuitive and I like being able to “staple” & “unstaple” multiple pages.

Super. Easy. Efficient. Quality. Easy instructions. Fast. A life saver for me at home for photos and documents to scan. Takes up little room. I LOVE it. The printer scanner combination machines are crap for scanning compared to the ease and quality of Dixie Pro. So worth the purchase!

I rate the DoxiePro as an excellent scanner, portable or not. It is far easier to use than my HP Printer flatbed scanner was and honestly think the end result is a crisper, cleaner image. Once you get used to it, you can plow through tons of receipts and papers in no time. We will be travelling in our RV and there is simply no room for a carton of receipts, documentation, etc. Using the DoxiePro, I digitized all important documents we may need, all tax-related receipts, etc. Because the scan area is not fixed, you can scan some odd lengths of paper - like one of those weirdly long receipts you sometimes get. The software is quite powerful, for example you can set your own "custom" scan profile; sometimes you may want archive quality single sided but other times a quick duplex scan will do nicely. You can crop, rotate, boost contrast, etc. and save the scan to an array of formats included. The software also has a neat staple function where you can scan various single sheets, click on the ones you want to group together and "staple" them into a single document. Conversely, if you scan double sided and want to delete blank sheets that may have been created you can "unstaple" the document, delete the unwanted sheets and put it back together as one document. There is so much more that I haven't explored yet. The scanner is very portable and can be tucked into a cupboard along with my laptop and pulled out when needed. I should note that the DoxiePro is a corded model which works fine for us as I cannot envision when we would need to scan anything while on the go. The available protective shell case is sleek and compact, keeping the scanner, cords and maintenance kit in one place. The customer service is unparalleled; my few questions were answered immediately and they continued to follow up for some time to ensure everything was going smoothly. I am proud to support a Canadian company that produces such a high quality product and would highly recommend the DoxiePro.
