When the on button is on it automatically sparks without you clicking to spark if that makes sense. So it continues to spark repeatedly until you turn the button off on the bottom. Which obviously defeats the purpose when using a torch.

This igniter is the best. Much easier to use then the hand igniters. I would definitely recommend getting one.

When I got it it didn’t want to fire I took the batteries out put them back in rolled them around and then it took off I noticed it was loose around the bottom of the casing to the body. It’s for my torch so far so good.

If you have a torch you need to light this is an excellent lighter I found it a little expensive but I knew that before buying it.

I use a silversmith atmosphere air/acetylene torch and was tired of using the standard flint striker and wasting time & gas. This lighter works awesome and I would buy it again. The round torch-sievert sticker came off when I opened the box, but that's not a big deal - looks better without it & and it saved me a few dollars compared to buying a nearly identical torch igniter on a popular jewelry supply website. I've been using this for about 3 months now, leave it on almost all the time and the battery is still going strong. It works best letting out a small amount of gas initially to light and then turning the flame hotter after its lit.
