The product came in a timely manner, packed well. On first sight it looks identical to the name brand design. While installing I did notice that the "adjustment" would need to be all the way up to work properly. As well as the coupling piece did not tighten down as it should. A peice of black tape around the shaft before sliding it together seem to fix the issue. All and all a good product since it does save almost 100 dollars over the name brand. However the coupler could be made of softer metal to provide the nice clasp it needs.

Works great, but before you try to tighten the screws you need to squeeze it in a vice to close the gaps a little with both rods out. Be careful not to squeeze too much, just enough to where the rods can't slide in. Then relieve pressure and put the rods in and try to tighten the screws. Repeat this process until you can snug the rods up without over tightening the screws. Never over tighten screws into aluminum threads. Works exactly like the Cobb brand if you do this right and be patient. It only took me five minutes.

The adjustable arm would not hold in place.I tried tightening it as much as possible but the hardware stripped out.

Bought this product thinking it might be a good bang for my buck. It was one of the two. Was a busy. Was easy getting my old shifter out. This one, went to tighten the bolts, which I did VERY slowly, and they all stripped out. Lesson learned. Spend the few extra bucks and buy main brand.

Works but the setting screw strip on the first setup had to drill tap and get new screw

If we can disregard the conscientious considerations (namely, the intellectual property violations), this item is perfect: it does the job admirably and the price is about what the materials cost. This is a reproduction of the COBB Tuning design, which sells for around $170 and is almost identical, including materials and manufacture technologies. I have the previous model COBB original on my other WRX (as well as other products of theirs) and, although the design is different, I have a good knowledge of the product, and I am aware of the issues some buyers of this item have had, and, looking at the COBB website customer reviews, their product has fielded the same complaints. It is what it is, you just have to be careful when tightening the screws and do it very, very slowly. The friction of the aluminum threads creates a force comparable to that of the tightening, so you have to reduce the former as much as possible, and one way to do that is by turning very slowly. Adding some lubricant is also helpful. I recommend the Permatex 81343 Anti-Seize Lubricant (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002UEOLO).Once in place and adjusted, the shifter works great. No clearance issues, no need to modify anything (and I have it adjusted to the extremes on my 2010 WRX). It has a great range of adjustability - from stock proportions to extreme lengthening of the throw and shortening of the shifter handle. There isn't much to it (a solid piece of metal), no moving parts, so I expect this to be as durable as the OEM shifter. That's really all there is about it. So, if you want a nice, quality adjustable shifter, you can't go wrong with this one.

2008 Suabru Legacy GTIt's a short shifter, easy to install and does what it claims to do. The quality really isn't there, but for $100 less then the real thing, it works just fine. You have to tighten everything in order and slowly, then the bolts wont strip out. If you buy this, find the install directions on Cobbs website and follow them. They'll teach you how not to strip the bolts.I will add that the ball at the bottom might be a little bigger than original and doesnt seem to want to come out, very easily, once its installed. Do it right the first time and you will never have to remove or adjust it!

The item is made of aluminum and steel, and it is very adjustable. This may not be suitable for top of the line racing, but it is more than suitable for a Street Driver. I sent mine to have a somewhat longer throw but a significantly shorter lever. Mostly to help keep the shift knob out of the way so my passengers can adjust my radio and climate control without interfering with my shifting. This product is very sturdy, but it did not come with bushings which I discovered way too late. I ended up just using the old bushings which work fine and fit perfectly. One small downside to this product is that the linkage connection is offset from the center as compared to most stock levers, so the stick will sit a little bit farther back than with a stock lever. I had to cut out a bit of my insulation under the center panel to accommodate this change, but it did not affect my Center panel. This may not be the case with other cars, so make sure to measure that you have enough room around your shift boot before installing this. It may need up to 3 in of extra space toward the back (toward 4th gear) to accommodate the extra volume of the knob and the offset linkage.
