This is the second unit I purchased that would not work. After tearing it apart to figure out the issue, the brown wire has no connectivity, so NO power can go through the unit. SECOND ONE - SAME ISSUE.Manufacturing CRAP. DO NOT BUY - THIRD ONE BAD - FOURTH ONE BAD ALSO..... CRAP

Worked perfectly for my Fiat 500 but had to put 2 resistors in parallel so that it gives the correct reading.

Used this +1 2.2k ohms resistor and it works on my fiat 500. No need to spend $200 on the entire part. Hopefully it lasts longer than the original garbage.

Installed this on a 2012 Challenger SRT8 since the rubber on the OEM model was deteriorating and sticking to my fingers whenever I opened the trunk. This was a perfect fit even matching the OEM wire colors. with super long lead wires. THIS IS NOT A PLUG AND PLAY REPLACEMENT. Requires cutting the OEM release switch cables and splicing or using connectors to use this product. Super easy to do taking about 20 minutes to take apart the tail light and replace. Great replacement product from Dorman.

Switch is a direct replacement for the Dodge Challenger vehicles that use an external trunk release switch in the rear tail light assembly. You have to splice the wires into the existing harness, but this is easy as the wires are color coded same as factory issue!Works even better than when I bought the car new in 2012! I recommend this switch to replace a faulty factory switch instead of replacing the entire tail light assembly, as switch is not available at the dealer.

Way cheaper than the whole assembly for a 500, you need to get the resistance to about 1500 ohms when closing the switch, which can be accomplished easily. Fits right in.

Works great, fits perfect. Installed on my 05 T&C. I had to splice the wires, as removing the wires from the connecter plug was just too hard. That switch had been broken for the 12 years I have owned the van. It was a relatively easy fix and I am kind of ashamed of myself for not doing it sooner.

I used the switch for my van rear door. What I liked about it it was easy to install. What I disliked about it, it worked for two days and that was it, now I’m back to square one. I should send it back!

Fits fiat 500 tailgate switch but will require modification to it-s electrical circuit to achieve 1.5kOhms resistance to be recognized by the fiat 500 BCM .The switch come with 4.6kOhms resistance and a hole and some saudering is required to modify it to fit fiat 500.

Had to take some of the trunk apart to access all wiring. Fit as the original. Seems to work sometimes, unless you press in a certain spot of the handle.
