The component itself was exactly what I expected: in good shape, and fit right in. The only thing that gave me trouble was mine went into a 94 Ford Ranger, and I was not clear that it needed 1/4 inch rivets to hold it in the door. I was expecting just to bolt it in, so most of my struggle was with the rivets rather than the regulator itself.

My boys and I did a lengthy restoration (not frame-off) of a 2004 Mazda B2300. The driver's door window regulator had a shot crank bearing. So, I ordered this replacement regulator, installed it, and the window works perfectly. Window regulators are easy to install. NOTE: You'll probably be drilling out rivets. You can install this regulator with rivets or you can use nuts and bolts if you don't have a rivet tool.

I was procrastinating on replacing this and I shouldn't have... the replacement unit is very high-quality which made replacing it much easier. For a minimal outlay my window works as it should, which removes a major annoyance.

I hated not being able to fully open my driver side window, which of course, you use often. This came with rivets, quite a few actually, the old mount only used 3, the bag came with 5 so even if you screw up you still have extras which is nice. Install wasn't too bad, taking out the old rivets was the most difficult aspect, when trying to use a drill my old rivets would just spin, thus not actually allowing me to bore out the holes. I had to use a dermal tool along with a drill to get the holes out. Once out swapping wasn't too bad, the only issue I had was one of the holes on the replacement was a hair small, so the rivet wouldn't fit, just bored that out with the drill and it was fine.I had more issues with the door trim.Material wise, this is very solid, already greased and should last me the rest of the trucks life. 200K miles already on.You will want a rivet gun, Astro Pneumatic 1423 13-Inch Heavy Duty Hand Riveter, is the one that I used, needed the 1/4 hold size.

It fit my truck and still works fine after a few months. The only thing i will add it that you will need a rivet gun to mount this one in place of the old one. (1996 Ford Ranger)
