Doesn't fit for my model. Bought a smaller one similar to what I need #61112 drain plug doesn't work either for the radiator. So Goodluck finding a drain peacock for that radiator when you go to replace it for your 98 gmc Sierra 1500 5.7l motor 2wd vehicle.

The item itself worked great, however my radiator had an internal crack at this housing point so even with the new plug it seeped when hot.

If you are reading this that means you probably tried opening the drain cock already. If you have not, save yourself from the trouble and disconnect the lower coolant hose instead, it will save you a lot of time and problems. First of all, the placement for this plastic plug is in the worst place imaginable and GM engineers should be ashamed of this, but almost EVERYTHING is in the way of this stupid plug. I had to bring it to a shop and they had to remove the front bumper to get enough room to remove the previous plug that was leaking. If in the event that you strip the threads or break the plug from the inside, you will need to replace the entire radiator and you will have changed a $100 job to a $500 job!I was lucky that this did not happen to my car. This replacement fit well and stopped the leaks coming from my car. Thanks Dorman for saving my vehicle.

Dorman 61136 Replacement Radiator DrainThis drain is a direct replacement for the one on a Chevrolet Cobalt. I have no complaints about Dorman's quality, but the drain plug design is HORRIBLE. There is no way to reach this plug to properly loosen or tighten it on my SS Turbo. The turbocharger air piping, radiator support, splash shields, and practically everything else blocks access. I can only reach it with my index and middle fingers on one hand, and I have to get my wrist scratched to heck by an A/C support bracket in the process.I scoured the Earth to find a tool, and the closest match is a Thexton 473 (part of the 485) kit which still requires some modification. The alternative is to use a long rod to gently tap loose the drain plug, then remove it to apply Sil-Glyde on the o-ring. Once the O-ring is lubed, you can manually tighten it properly with 2 fingers. All GM had to do to make this simple was design this drain plug with some type of Allen socket hole in the center or a hex-head on the outside. Ford's radiator drains from the mid-90s to now is excellent: the entire drain is a 19mm hex-head. In addition, Ford even mounts the plug straight down on low ground-clearance vehicles, so a socket can be used to loosen the plug without having to do Yoga to reach it. I was able to change the coolant in 3 Fords simultaneously (drain, recover, and refill) in the time it took me to just loosen the drain plug on the Cobalt.Overall: 5/5 stars, BUT Dorman could have taken the initiative and implement an Allen hex or hex-head on the outside of this drain to facilitate easier removal/installation.
