About this item

  • Service-friendly design - this Dorman OE FIX transmission fluid pan features an integrated drain plug to allow the trans fluid to be drained before servicing the pan, eliminating messy spills
  • Replaceable filter - features our money-saving and convenient 265-850F replaceable filter design and filter kit that allows replacement of just the clogged filter during transmission servicing
  • Durable design - built to strict specifications and thoroughly tested to withstand impacts and leaks for a long and reliable service life
  • Trustworthy quality - backed by team of auto parts experts and engineers in the United States, and 100 years of aftermarket experience

On certain Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles, when a transmission pan is leaking or in need of routine service, loosening and lowering that fluid-filled pan is a messy business. This Dorman OE FIX transmission oil pan is designed to match the fit and function of the original equipment pan but is manufactured with a handy drain plug to allow the trans fluid to be removed before service. This pan also features our convenient 265-850F replaceable filter design and filter kit that is engineered specifically for use with this product and includes a new filter, gasket and screws. Unlike the factory pan that lacks a serviceable filter, this unique upgrade can help reduce maintenance costs by enabling the replacement of just the clogged filter during transmission servicing.

Excellent replacement for OEM Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi. Cheaper than OEM and redesigned to have a replaceable filter. I pull a heavy pontoon boat and snowmobile trailer several times a year so my transmission gets used well. This pan/filter combo makes the process significantly cheaper and more economical. OEM pan has a built-in nonremovable filter so you have to replace the whole unit and retails for $350!!! This pan/filter combo is half the price and once you replace it with this pan/filter combo, you can just drop the pan and swap the filter which is also on Amazon.Warning on changing/refilling transmission fluid:The transmission refill process is a bit of a chore as there isnt a dipstick and the fill plug is directly above the exhaust pipe. Wear gloves and arm guards while adding/checking fluid.

Replaced trans filter in my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic 4wd with a ZF 8 speed transmission. It fit good, seemed like quality and now I just have to change the filter and not the whole pan next time.

I got this for my 2017 Ram 1500 Sport Crew Cab 2wd 8 spd transmission. I watched all the YT videos on how to do drain and refill, and this pan was used in a few of those videos. It fit up like OE. It does have the removable/replaceable filter inside, so it will be a few buck cheaper the next time I do this procedure. Installing on my truck was not as easy as it showed on YT, the OE pan would not clear the cross-pipe. Everyone says to lift the rear of the trans, and its funny because the pipe lifted with the transmission as well, its all bolted to the same engine, BUT it did move like 3/16 of an inch, but he pan still would not come out, there was a small lip that kept preventing this from happening. I finally removed the gasket from the pan, and that was actually JUST enough for it to finally clear. Install was just the same, I had to install the new pan with the gasket not set in the pan groove in order for it to clear that lip, then with a little finagling, and patience, I got it all together, and bolted it all up and torqued to spec. To this date, I've had no leaks or any issues. So, this is a good pan to use in my opinion.

Well made and packaged product. This product seems to marginally increase the transmission oil capacity. In my opinion it's overpriced for what you get but it is better than the OEM design.

If you’re going to do your fluid/pan, ya gotta get this. Way better and sets you up for a less expensive service for the next round as you only need the filter not the complete pan. 2016 Ram 1500 ecodiesel FYI

I did a transmission drain and fill on my Ram with 91,000 miles on it. The pan fit fine and after 3 weeks of operation, no leaks have been detected. Torque the retaining screws to the proper spec in the proper sequence and you should have no problems. The pan appears to be well made. I like the idea that it has a replaceable filter whereas the OEM pan filter is not replaceable.I think this pan is slightly deeper than the OEM pan as the 3/4" long piece of 10mm allen key I made to access the drain plug was just a bit more difficult to insert into the Dorman drain plug after the pan was installed. The exhaust crossover on the 5.7L Hemi engine is directly below the drain on the pan, which makes it difficult to access.I also had to unbolt the rear transmission mount (3-15mm nuts) and lift the transmission approximately an inch so the pans could be removed and replaced. Again, the exhaust crossover is in the way here too.Not only is the pipe in the way, the exhaust crossover will burn your arms while replacing the fill plug on the ZF during the procedure unless you insulate yourself from it somehow. (I wore welding gloves.)And FWIW, I used Valvoline Maxlife ATF in the Ram's 8 speed ZF transmission to do the drain and fill. Many, many Ram owners are using Maxlife ATF in their ZF's with excellent results. The drain and fill procedure isn't difficult. It's like any other job. Having the right tools makes all the difference.

Install was straight forward and easy. Thought I had a leak from improperly installing it so I did it again and still had a leak. I then noticed it was leaking from the middle of the pan! One of the screws that holds the filter in place want to far and punctured it. They are sending me a new pan but still a lot of time and fluids lost.

Properly packaged, came with necessary replacement bolts.Follow torquing specifications from vehicle manufacturer and this will provide a perfect, leak free seal. Drain plug is removable, tested during subsequent fluid drop. It is also well designed to nearly completely drain the pan during follow up drain and fills, eliminating the need to drop the pan every time a fluid change is performed. For subsequent service intervals, Filter is replaceable with filter/gasket kit available from seller.Costs less than 1/2 the price of an OEM pan which does allow filter replacement. Excellent value.
