I struggled getting it to fit in place. The pan was catching on something. The transmission filter was sagging and hitting the drain plug in the pan. I strung a wire across the transmission to temporarily hold the filter up. Then I put the pan in place with just a couple of loose screws. This allowed me to remove that temporary wire. Installing the rest of the screws was straightforward.At first the drain plug leaked slightly. I tightened it with a 19 mm box and wrench and the leaking stopped.

This thing was a decent price but adding the drain plug is a life saver.Ok, so you want to change your filter and need a drain, yep the drain plug helps a lot with stopping a mess. Now you have filled the transmission back up… uh oh, over filled it. Without the drain plug getting level right is a mess.It will also help a lot when you want to run the fluid a little and then drain out the nasty junk that stayed in the torque converter.The file yet in this model vehicle is such a pain to keep properly connected when you keep dropping the pan, this is very helpful.

It fits like OEM and feels pretty solid. I went ahead and replaced the pan with the fluid change because this one had a drain plug…. So the idea would be that it’s easier next time. Well…. The crush washer leaks. And I found that out after adding 6q of fluid. So unfortunately, I had to add high temp JB WELD around the plug to stop the slow leak. So there goes the benefit of having the plug….So either don’t buy this or replace the plug and washer before install.

The manufacture of this pan is excellent, it has good weight and a smooth finish. Although not specifically manufactured for the px ford ranger i believe it will fit as the vehicle is fitted with a 6R80 transmission the same as the f-150.After reading quite a few reports that similar pans were not deep enough or as thick material, the dorman product was chosen as it was as close to original specs as possible. Worth the small amount of extra money, compared to similar pans.

Replaced on 2011 F-150 6r80 transmission. This oil pan has a drain plug that uses the same size wrench (19mm) as the filler plug, nice touch! Perfect fit, replaced with new gasket from Amazon - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B001UCGE84/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

What a crazy idea to not put a drain plug in the transmission sump. Thankfully Dorman the answer. A nice bit of kit at a reasonable price.
