This viewer is of the same quality as Earl Diamond (almost identical in design and shape). However, the treaded tube is not as loose as Earl Diamond. Both have a few tiny debris/scratches beneath the front lens at the outer edges (not visible at all from a user's view point). As for Satin Nickel color, this viewer is slightly darker than Schlage door locks, while Earl Diamond is slightly lighter and more silvery. The included hole saw is perfect and make this viewer a better deal than Earl Diamond.Updated Note:But for my second and third orders, I received a vastly different item. So I had to downgrade the 5-star rating to 3. The replacment for my second order is as good as my first order. So two good ones out of four orders. I believe the seller mixed up the items as the packaging bags had the same labels for all four.

I wanted the widest angle viewer I could buy. I can see so much more than with the small peep holes. I love the little cover it has. I had a family member install it for me as my door is solid wood and thick. They had to approach drilling it from both sides of the door to get all the way through. Not a problem for them. If you had to buy the bit at a big box store it probably would have cost as much or more than this peep hole that included the bit. I am extremely pleased.

This peephole is great! Let me start off by saying it’s big. Like, way bigger than I’ve ever installed before! Don’t let that scare you off though. The field of view is nice and it looks great on my door! The hole saw that comes with it is great for the installation! Just make sure you mark EXACTLY where you want to start drilling before you start. I drilled a pilot hole first. If you mess this up you’ll have to get a new door, the hole is about an inch in diameter. After the hole is drilled it’s painfully simple to install. Just put the outside part in the hole on the outside. Hold it in place and thread the inside portion from the back. There were no instructions to this peephole, hence my instructions. The cover on the inside is a nice feature too!

Straight forward install and great total package. I didn’t have to buy anything else and the bit worked great. It’s a huge peephole, which may not work for some as it’s easier to look inside, but for my application it’s PERFECT! It’s in a back door to a retail space where our employees can easily scan the parking lot. It’s a generous viewing port and I compare it to a portal window in a ship. It’s great!

Very simple install and looks great. Make sure the door is thick enough though.

Simple to install in general. The case was a bit harder for me as a pre-existing hole made the drill bit less applicable. Using a stepped drill bit instead on a metal door is a bit more problematic than had I had no hole in the first place. That is not the fault of the viewer.Optics are fine and the fit worked well so long as th 1 1/8" or 1.1" hole was placed properly. The ease of use is quite good with the enlarged lens and its optics giving a wide-span view with minimal distortion in the area of most concern. Compared to the limited 5/8" opening prior to this changeover, the view is much better and the inner lid is easy to use.Worth the money.

It’s a nice sturdy product and is as advertised. It would be good to have a way to firmly tighten and easily loosen from the inside. Also the drill bit is not great for solid wood doors. I hat to use another bit to remove material from the hole every 1/4 or so. it was just a little tile consuming and messier than if the bit was at least 1/2 as deep as the door thickness.
