I like that this is large peephole which gives a great view of the other side of the door. This is a long overdue addition to my front door - so much better than opening the door when someone knocks just to see who is there! My front door is a foam-insultated fiberglass door. To make sure that my installation would be 'professional', I drilled an 1/8" hole into a 2x4 block with my drill press to make sure that my 'drill guide' was perpendicular to the surface. I placed this block flat on my door where I wanted to install the peephole and drilled a pilot hole completely through the door. This ensured that the two sides would be in exact alignment with each other. I then used the included 28 mm Forstner bit to drill the large hole necessary for installation. I first drilled from the inside and when it went through to the interior, I move to the outside and drilled. By drilling from both sides, I was able to get very clean holes. The actual installation was easy - I simply unscrewed the two halves, placed them in the holes and screwed them back together. I like that the peephole has a swinging piece that blocks the peephole from the inside. This swings up so you can look through. I am impressed with the quality of the metal work as well as the clarity of the optics. The view is very clear and covers a wide angle. An excellent, overdue addition to the front door!

Installation was simple, and the included hold saw was a perfect fit. Hard to get a picture of what it looks like, but it makes the entire front yard visible.

This peep hole is huge! For me, in my aging and declining eyesight , it's really nice. This, with the included cutting bit to drill your hole, is a great value. Those bits can go for $10 or more each. I have a set, but it was nice to be able to use this one for the metal door, as I only use mine for woodworking. The inside cover is nice but I did remove mine because I don't need it. It has a good build quality and hasn't fogged up as of yet between the cold outside and the warmth inside. Installation is simple as drilling a straight (or mostly straight) hole and hand tightening. The picture is really wide and very clear.

Installed quick and easy. Nice they included a suitable forschner style drill for creating the right size hole. In my case, door was fiberglass but the included drill cut it just fine.Performance of the peep hole is great. Provides a very wide-angle view. I like the flip-down door to 100% prevent outsiders from seeing in via the peep hole. Nice touch.Unit feels hefty and well made.

PROS:- Physical shutter- Wide view- Large lens and sight pieceCONS:- Included bit is only suitable for wood doorsI had a delay installing this because the bit included Forstner type bit is intended for use with wood, and despite sounding like a wood door when knocked on, it turned out to be metal over a foam core. (TIP: Check your door with a magnet, as most metal doors will be steel rather than aluminum). After obtaining the proper size and type bit for metal, the installation proceeded. Take care to keep the drill level and straight (a second person looking from the side can help). I also advise wearing ear protection, and of course eye protection is advised. I also advise smoothing down the edges afterward, although the unit could have been installed without doing this.Installing the unit itself after the hole was made was quite easy: Just place one part through the hole, the other from the opposite side and thread together. The unit can only be tightened by hand as there are no attachment points for a tool, but this appears to be adequate. If the outside of the door will be directly exposed to weather, a small bead of caulk behind the rim of the outside lens might be advisable.Once installed the unit gave a nice wide view and the large diameter made viewing easier. The rotating privacy shutter prevents someone outside from looking through to the inside. The construction appears to be high quality, with a nice brushed nickel appearance and what appear to be all glass lenses. If I needed another peephole, I would have no hesitation purchasing one of these.

First off, super suprised that I received a 'delayed' delivery notice and wasn't expecing it until 12/24. SO, I was like WOW...awesome!!!Have not yet installed this Door Viewer as we're still waiting on our door to be delivered the first week in January. But as luck will have it, our friend who will be installing the door and Door Viewer was over for dinner. He was as impressed as I was with this viewer. I opened the package (it was very well packaged), forgot it had a privacy 'view door' to open/close....NICE. Looking thru the lens, oh my, what a huge difference from the one I have on my current door. Crisp, clear, wide view....I mean this viewer is truly awesome. It's very clear that the matt black material used is superb quality, the craftmanship is extremely detailed and the crisp/sharp lens is just amazing. Clearly they have superior quality control. I have shopped/compaired quality with pricing on door viewers but have not come across one I liked for the price especially one with a privacy door. But, now, I'm convinced, this one has surpassed all those I've looked at. You even get the drill bit needed to properly install this viewer as well...Very highly recommend.
