I have a 20 gallon tank and it has like a inner lip for the lid to sit on and these do not fit around it

First of all, extremely happy that they pre-washed these planters - no residue or smell on them!The material is far more robust than I was thinking and had smooth, beveled edges - what I'd expect from ADA products at three times the price.The baskets are a great size, enough for a established root ball and supplemented with clay balls.The baskets can be removed while retaining the holders in place - GREAT design!

I wanted these to put houseplants in my fish tank to pull out extra nitrates. I was very disappointed to see that they would not fit over the rim of my standard-sized 29 gallon tank. They did, however, fit over the rim of my standard 10 gallon tank. I like the way you clip the base to the frame and the basket slides in and out. (It's not all one piece.) However, this feature also makes it less stable. I have some short (5-8") pothos cuttings in one basket and philodendron brasil in the other. Neither of which are very heavy plants, but the basket still leaned a bit and was not super secure because of the weight. A heavier plant top would cause the basket to fall over and out of the aquarium. I was also disappointed that I was not able to adjust these lower into the tank as only the bottom 1/3 of the basket (if that) was in the tank water. I keep my tank filled to the plastic rim. This could be quite an issue with evaporation and/or if you keep your tank water lower.
