We have had several of the wooden trash can holders due our small cabinet space and my wife hates to see a trash can sitting on the end of a counter or against the wall. Those things are made of particle board and deteriorate in less than a year. We've tried 4 of those types of concealers. This thing is really good looking and really looks more like a file cabinet. The problem is that the individual receptacles are of a non-standard bag size here in the US and they are so small that they just don't hold very much. Very solidly made and good looking, so good if you don't need much capacity. Pricey, for sure.

In Boise, ID we have the orange hefty bag program which requires you to separate plastics 3-5 from 1 and 2. We also have to recycle glass separately, and compost obviously separated as well. I love that this sorter has space for the hefty orange bags on the upper left, and I actually use the battery space on the upper right for 3 gallon composting bags. 3 gallon bags seem to be standard in the US and they do fit these containers, even if a little tight. The plastic containers are sturdy and the metal handle is a nice addition. I can easily clean them in my sink. The slim profile allows this to fit in a narrow space near the sink and dishwasher while still allowing space for people to pass through. I agree with other reviews that say the construction feels industrial. It could be nice to add features like soft close, and if the finish were smoother. But overall, this is the nicest product I have found for participating in the Boise recycling scheme with my family without feeling like I’m living in a trash pile with multiple bins spread around the kitchen collecting stuff. This keeps things tidy and manageable.

This is amazing and changed my small apartment life. I separate my recyclables BEFORE heading to the building’s recycling room by using the four bins provided. I don’t need to use bags - I just take the separated bins to the room and dump them. It looks nice and works as a furniture piece. Sturdy and good looking.
