Sand Filter Tanks
Doheny's Sand Filters crafted with quality in mind and help you achieve outstanding water clarity! Each sand filter includes a six-position dial valve with a flange clamp attachment that allows for 360 degree rotation which makes it ideal for any replacement application. All tanks have 1.5 inch connections at the dial valve. Easy access drain plug to simplify winter maintenance. Top internal diffuser to ensure even distribution of water over the sand bed. Includes a pressure gauge to indicate when it's time to backwash the filter.

Doheny's Deluxe Cartridge Filters are crafted from extra-durable, glass reinforced, corrosion resistant co-polymer material that meets the demands of even the toughest applications. The extra-large filter area offers greater efficiency and dirt holding capacity! Includes an easy to remove top lid, pressure gauge, and pressure relief valve. 2 inch female plumbing connection can be reduced to 1.5 inches for easy installation. The diameter of the button of the tank is approximately 14 inches wide making it an easy swap out for other bullet-shaped cartridge filters. Ideal for mid-sized to large inground pools ONLY.

I bought this filter in summer of 2023 and in August of 2024 I noticed water spraying out of the tank. It had a pin hole in the seam where the tank was built. I contacted doheny asking for help but they said it had a 1 year warranty and that was expired. Not only am I out the money for the filter but also the cost of the filter sand and I have now got to tear it out and install a new one. I am disappointed and surprised that doheny refused to make it good. I have owned several sand filters and some of the valves went bad but I have never seen a tank that developed a hole. I will never buy from doheny again and I say buyer beware to you.

Easy to assemble and works nicely. The only problem I had with the filter was that Multiport Valve has only one port for pressure gauge and air pressure release. I used an extension Tee to address the problem, otherwise it is working efficiently.

Regular 1 1/2" fittings will leak and you will get frustrated. Make sure you use unions like Boltigen 2pcs 1-1/2 PVC Pool Pump Fitting Coupling (search amazon). They do not leak and allow for disassembly in the future.

bought this to replace 20 year old Hayward earth filter. Everything worked well, directions were spot on ,easy set up. I will mention that I do get a bit of sand into pool nothing too great will up date review later.

Good product but when installing pipes to the connectors it leaked so I had to continue tightening and it cracked the plastic on the housing in two places. Not sure if a manufacturer’s defect or my own strength but I’ve been installing plumbing for 20+years and realize that sometimes happens. But an expensive mistake to make.

The filter arrived as advertised. No parts missing. The filter has been operating for 3 weeks now with no problems. My husband replaced an old Hayward sand filter and this one works as well at half the price.

I replaced an old Hayward filter with this one. Install was easy and straightforward. I did need to do some plumbing rework due to the old one having a side mounted valve. I was wanting to plumb in a chlorine feeder anyway, so no big deal.It's been in service for a month now with no leaks or issues.

This is a less expensive alternative to the better-known brand of pool equipment. Old sand filter is about 15 years old and was starting to leak at bottom drain hole due to the plastic deterioration plus the top valve unit leaked from stripped screw hole and the valve selection gasket. Decided rather than doctor the old one, buy a new one. Assembly was easy and self-explanatory, but I guess the most difficult, if it's considered difficult, is the outlet was not in the same position as the old one so minor modification to the plumbing was necessary. Off to the local big box hardware store for a couple pvc fittings and pipe along with glue. After installing and starting up the pump it looks to be filtering very well, check the backwash, right? Did notice too that the pump selector valve works very easy. Hope to get 15 more out of this one.
