We had a bark collar before. It was a hands off unit, that would escalate based on sensing the dog barking. It would escalate going from a beeping to a vibrate to increasing shocks. The bark collar got left out and the dog chewed it breaking the clasp, so we had to replace it.I needed something to stop our dog from barking when the neighbor lets their dog out. Our dog is a large (48 lbs.) Rottweiler-Labrador mix puppy. He will run to the fence, and bark whenever the neighbor lets their dog out. The situation gets worse as our other dog (older pit bull mix) will 'egg him on,' causing him to bark almost uncontrollably. This bark collar is amazing! It gives me control to beep, vibrate or shock, and it gives control over the level of shock. The first time I used the beep, it immediately got his attention, probably because he remembered from the other collar the beep was the first level. Reinforced with a "NO" command, the beep was very effective first level. If he gets a little out of hand, I can use the vibrate control. This definitely gets his attention, and he will usually back off from the fence. I was able to control and work with him effectively using only these functions for almost two weeks. I wondered if I would ever have to use the shock. One day the opportunity arose. The beep and vibrate did not provide enough stimulus to break him out of his barking frenzy, so I used the shock. The shock level can be set and I had it at 20. It kind of got his attention but he appeared to shrug it off. I increased it to 30 for the next time it would be needed. That did the trick! The next time I had to use the shock (after escalating from beep to vibrate), he IMMEDIATELY stopped and backed away. I have only had to use the shock once since then (I guess he wanted to see if the last shock was a fluke--it wasn't). The shock level could be dialed up to 99. I suppose if you had a bigger dog or your dog had thicker hair you might need higher than mine, but I can't imagine that this wouldn't be able to get ANY dog's attention.I really like the layout of the controller. The beep control is the bottom button. The vibrate control is the button just above it. Then there is a good distance (a whole set of buttons) until the shock control button, and it is the only colored button (orange) so it stands apart and I don't accidentally push it. There is also a lock (slide) controller on the side so that if any controller button is accidentally pressed ( or if little hands get ahold of it) the dog doesn't get accidentally shocked. Both the collar and the controller are rechargeable, using a standard micro USB cable. The collar recharges in less than 4 hours (so overnight) and lasts for days. The controller lasts over a week. There is no reason to turn it off to save charge.I am so thrilled with the performance of this training system. This has been an amazing system and helps the dog find focus when he loses it. I highly recommend this for anyone with a dog who needs correction.

Works well but shock feature weakens after a few uses. It still is effective enough for my lab though really only use vibrate now

I wanted a training collar that would chime or ring, vibrate, and would give a shock that could be turned on and off at the handheld remote only. My old brand collar had to be turned on and off at the collar and if I forgot to turn it on, you had a struggle on your hands trying to get it on. Or if you are already outside and find out you forgot to turn it on then you are forced to deal with excited dogs and cold weather gloves that are not flexible enough to press some small button. I've been there and done that. You need to be quick and ready most of the time, if you are dealing with two dogs. I like the fact that this collar works with both dogs. One is 50lbs and the other is 18lbs. This collar has enough adjustment to fit either dog. And I can decrease the corrective shock down to the point for the small or large dog. It seems that sometimes the dogs don't want to acknowledge the fact they are being called or that they need to stop doing something or they need to just pay attention to me. All has worked well with this collar and the shock has not been used but once, which lets the dog know that after the ring and the vibrate if no response was taken then the correction might follow. It only took once and I had it tuned down to such a low amount that it was just a slight tingle to my fingers. I always put my fingers across the 2 probes and mash the correction button on the control before it ever goes on the dogs. I'm not cruel, and do not want to hurt my dogs. I just want to get their attention and now with the chime or ring that's all it takes. The weight of the collar is low, only 4oz hence making it an acceptable weight for even a small dog. Actually even lighter than our 18lb pup. This collar is constructed in a heavy duty nature that should hold up with no problems other than owner error of not putting it out of reach and it gets chewed up. With my dogs I haven't found anything to be chew proof. I have also found that I do find it to be nice to be able to recharge the collar. My other brand collar ate batteries like a kid with M&M's. This collar also lasts a lot longer between charges than I figured it would. No problems with the charging. Also you can lock the collar out with a slide of a switch on the side of the handheld control so as to have no action at the collar at all. Now a bit about the hand control. It is not tiny. That however is fine with me. It will fit in a back pocket or a coat pocket with no problem. It comes with a nice strap to keep it around your wrist. I prefer it larger so in colder weather if wearing gloves the buttons can still be felt and mashed without difficulty. It is also rechargeable and lasts a long time. The control is to be turned off when not in use . It actually has a good old fashion knob to turn it on or off. This knob also lets you change the setting of the corrective shock. As in more or less. But the nice feature the control has is that a button has to be pressed on the control before you can adjust the degree of corrective shock and a digital readout will go lower or higher to indicate where you desire it to be set. Very simple compared to some gizmos I've attempted to use in the past. After the button is released the knob will only turn the control on and off. All and all I am very satisfied with this training collar and would buy again.

We have an extremely active Blue Heeler. He is two years old and his predatory instinct drive is through the roof. Daily walks have been incredibly difficult and we have resorted to only walking at night. The darkness and reduced vehicle/pedestrian traffic is the only way to reduce Syndey's sensory overload. Sydeny aggressive pulls throughout his entire walk and charges at anything he sees or is in reach. When Sydney senses it’s time for his walk he begins to continuously bark and jumps at the froth door. We have had to replace several window screens as Sydney constantly lunges at the windows when animals, people and vehicles pass by our house. Trips to the local off-leash park have stopped altogether. Syndey’s herding and predatory instinct are too intense. We have tried choke collars, long and short leashes, body harnesses and muzzles but nothing has reduced Sydney’s unwanted behaviours. We spent weeks researching collar trainers and finally selected the Dogcare TC01 dog training collar. The first night we had the collar Sydney immediately responded to the pulsations and we could see the difference. This training collar is a game changer and we know we made the right choice with Dogcare.

We have a stubborn 8 month old pup that we couldn't break from digging in the garden or barking at our neighbours. I have my reserves when buying this collar. Im very hesitant using the stim correction. But when I read up on the reviews and I had choices such as vibration and sound correction along with the lockout option , l gave this collar a try. Works great the first time using only vibration at level 10 . Catching him in the act of digging, I gave his name and no command he would not respond, then a second . Used the vibration mode correction he stopped digging and came to me. I gave him lots of praise and a treat reward. I would recommend this collar to anyone needing a little extra encouragement when dealing with dogs with bad habits that we cant break from them. Only using the vibration level 10 worked for me without having to use stim mode. I have also used it for recalls , vibration again, when he just wont come in the house, just carrying the remote had him come in the house. We are very pleased with the results and quality , full stars for me.

I really LOVE this product. It is very easy to set up and use day-to-day. I have already seen some big improvements in my dog's training. I love how the collar and remote are rechargeable and how there is a "lock" feature on the remote to ensure that the buttons aren't being pressed when you carry it around in your pocket. I have already recommended the product to other dog owners I know.
