This is a perfectly good and strong tie-out stake for a dog (or cat). It simply screws into the soil, has a rubberized handle to twist it into the ground, and has a freely-rotating connector for the tie-out rope. I couldn't say if it will ever rust, but if it does -- it won't be for quite a long time, and it would not affect the functionality anyway.

I had to get a new 1 because I hit the new 1 with the new riding mower my son bought. I didn't go far enough to the side & bent the living daylights out of it & the mower blade :( Literally a new mower, 2nd use. This one was easier to screw in because of the coating on the top. I still had to use a piece of rebar to get it all the way in because there is a lot of roots & rocks in my yard.

I liked the ease of set up and durability of the product for my needs. I’m using this product to limit the area that my tortoise can explore without escaping. Not typical; but it should work for me.

I have a small front yard and a Labrador puppy. This gives just enough length for him to lay out in the yard and play but not reach the sidewalk as people pass by. It's great quality and doesn't get tangled up and it's strong enough to hold in the ground. I would recommend

It's super easy to set up and my dog loves it. The spring at the end broke but my 80lb dog was trying to run full force so it wasn't surprising. The only down side is if it gets wrapped around your ankles while your dog is running it will leave a wicked cut as my husband found out the hard way. over all it held us over wonderfully until our fence got put in.
