We bought this as an added layer to our home security. The device is motion activated so if someone breaks the beam you’ll hear a very loud barking dog and a yippy dog too. Statistics indicate burglars will avoid a home with a dog. The device allows you to adjust volume too.

Worked great, the sensors can pick up movement all the way to the street which is 15 yards away. it is very loud inside the house and you can definitely hear it outside the house. It is louder outside if you place it by the window vs by the door.

The sound was authentic, it was loud, ferocious BUT we couldn't get it to stop barking as soon as we turned it on. Think it would have worked if we could have gotten the barking adjusted.

It seems to work fine other than sound. I hope to add an amp and larger speaker. then I might be happy....

I will start off by saying that the product does work....someone walks in front of a sensor and the alarm sounds. There are 2 problems with this product. 1st off the alarm speaker is not at all loud enough. I bought the item because of the guard dog bark alarm hoping someone outside would hear it thinking I had a guard dog in my house.....well, you can barely hear the thing through my front door, and that is me placing it right by the door. 2nd is that when you walk in front of a sensor it causes the sensor to flash red.....whats the purpose of trying to trick someone into thinking you have a guard dog inside if the sensor is going to give it away that you do not by flashing red....I gave it a 2 star review intead of 1 because it did at least work....it just didnt work well.

I call it Rover. Lol. This thing is perfect. Sounds just like a real big dog when it barks. I call it Rover. I Love this thing. You can't tell that it's not a real dog. It's very sensitive. You come close n Rover barks like a big vicious dog. Great security dog.!

Elk are tearing up my new lawn and I want to scare them away. So I hoped this alarm would startle them and send them running. Details on the Amazon website suggested that this item might work well for me, particularly a barking dog sound. Both the transmitter and the receiver are precision manufactured and assembled. They are attractive and the controls are clearly labeled and easy to use. The items function together: when a sensor identifies motion it transmits a wireless signal to the receiver, which plays a sound selected from a number of tones or noises. Sounds and playback volume are chosen at the receiver. The instruction sheet provides more important details than the description online. Reading carefully through it I noticed two important factors that immediately aroused concern regarding the item’s suitability for my use.1. Minimum operating temperature (listed in separate places) was stated at either 20ºC or 25ºC, 68ºF or 77ºF. These numbers suggested that the items are best used indoors. The elk are outdoors and are coming around in the winter.2. Range of sensitivity of the motion sensor was stated at from 6 to 9 meters. But there was a suggestion that their sensitivity might be less to movement directly toward than motion across the field of view.I tested operation inside and found the basic operation effective and predictable. I also found that sensitivity of a receiver was about 6 meters walking perpendicular to the field of view, while it was about 2 meters moving straight toward the sensor.I also tested outside in the 40º temperature that day. The results were similar to those inside. Walking slowly and directly toward a sensor, I needed to be within 2 meters to activate the receiver, while a sensor activated a sound as I walked across the field of view as far away as 6 meters. Walking further than 6 meters away from the sensor did not activate a sound.I have watched the behavior of elk as they approach my lawn and seen that they come directly from the west, not in a path from another direction. So the effectiveness of the barking dog alarm definitely would be questionable for responding before they had a chance to attack the grass.I gave a rating of 3 stars for a lack of important details online and I returned the item.

It’s been months since I’ve had this device and I am pleased! I’ve tried almost everything to detour cats from my yard. Nothing worked except this! It barks loud! Haven’t see any cat poop in months! Only thing is the sensor is very sensitive. You will need to angel this sensor in a place wheee it’s NOT picking up cars that drive by. I don’t have that issue because I place mine in an area that won’t pick up cars. I love this device and will be buying another one soon for more coverage. Expensive but worth the money to me. I was stressing out over the cats using my turf as their litter box. Not anymore though!
