Product Description

Doc's ProPlugs can prevent swimmers ear, and ear pain by blocking water from entering the ears, keeping ears warm and preventing the flushing of water in and out of the ear. Ear pain and infection are caused by cold exposure and erosion of delicate skin and wax in the ear canal. Upon descent, ProPlugs prevent water from entering the ear down to 20 feet in depth. Once the diver enters greater depths, water will be allowed into the ear for equalization. Unlike other earplugs, ours includes a Scotts valve which allows ears to equalize easily and let sound in. Our ProPlugs have been used by hundreds of divers for over thirty years who testify that ProPlugs are the earplugs for divers. Equalization with Doc's ProPlugs: Doc's ProPlugs have also been used by divers who have trouble equalizing. Unlike other earplugs which are solid and would not be recommended for diving, ProPlugs are vented to allow equalization. While the small vent allows equalization to occur it does not allow debris to enter and it prevents earwax from washing out which exposes delicate ear tissue. The ProPlugs keep ears warm by storing the head's conductive heat; the warmth provided by the plugs drastically reduces the risk of thermal shock. Due to surface tension the vented plug also reduces abrupt pressure changes from reaching the sensitive eardrum which contributes to easier equalization. Clear ears often to allow air to escape through the ProPlugs vent and allow for better equalization. ProPlug wearers who have trouble clearing their ears should check to make sure a lump of ear wax is not blocking the canal or butting up against the vent. If the vent is fouled by debris while descending it is best to remove the ProPlug. If fouled while ascending, there is no problem because the air and water under pressure can escape around the ProPlug.Hundreds of divers have attested to the benefits of ProPlugs for relieving pressure in their ear during descent.

Have used on 2 trips now. Last one 20+ dives in 6 days. Kept ear canals warm, clean, and had very little issue after diving. Usually can’t dive that much due to ear problems. I’m a believer.

Great for scuba diving. I use non vented for open water swimming and these for scuba. Have several dives using them no issues. No ear infections or difficulty clearing going down and back up. Stay in place nicely. Been using this brand for several years. A game changer.

We bought there to help keep water out of our ears while scuba diving. They are vented so don’t interfere with your hearing. You have to make sure you seat them properly, but once you do that, they work really well.

After repeated ear infections my ear doctor recommended these ear plugs to use when washing my hair to keep the water and soap out of the ears. They do the job. I cannot comment on how well they work for swimming because I have never used them for swimming. No more ear infections for me.

These are great. I needed a new pair for my daughter, who has grommets, in between specialist visits. Exactly the same as the ones I purchase through the specialists office, a bit cheaper and more convenient as I don’t have to go in and buy them.

Completamento soddisfatto. Li consiglierei senza alcun dubbio.

I was skeptical about the efficacy of these, but after giving them a shot I'm convinced. I've got some scar tissue in one of my ears and had a really, really badly inflamed eustachian tube after diving to only 25 feet and being completely unable to equalize. Couldn't hear out of that ear for about a week and had to do a course of methylprednisolone. After it cleared up, I ordered these in an attempt to hopefully prevent the same issue. I made sure to take sudafed for a few days before the planned dive (as well as the morning of) and combined with these ear plugs, I was able to equalize so much more quickly and effectively. I was able to go down to ~70 feet and for the first time actually felt completely comfortable while on the bottom. I'm a huge fan of these and will definitely purchase a second pair of them to toss in another bag.

They fit a little painfully, they constantly tick as water releases.I keep using them because they do the job well enough and they are the ones I can keep SOME hearing with.

size is important but is a guess for the shopper. I have used this product for years, so I know the right size, otherwise its a best guess for anyone buying for the first time. I also had to take the tether string off of an old set because the new ones came without it. All in all this is a good source for those of us that need minimal wet ear when swimming. I use the vented model as I want to be able to hear others when wearing.
