The dog measures approximately 10 in wide x 9 1/2 in tall, while the base measures 11 1/2 in by 3/4 in. It has two 3/16 in holes drilled into the base for mounting. It's a little larger than the one I had on the old mailbox (a good thing) I LOVE it!! Can't wait to get the new mailbox up with it on top. I sprayed it with a clear coat to prevent rust prior to mounting on the mailbox. VERY HAPPY with this purchase!!
