DigitalLife UHOST-I USB MIDI Host

DigitalLife UHOST-I | 1i/1o USB-MIDI Host, Plug and Play

The UHOST-I USB Host MIDI Interface Box is a device that provides a solution for connecting and controlling MIDI devices using USB MIDI controllers and keyboards. This device acts as a bridge between USB-equipped devices and MIDI devices that use the traditional 5-pin MIDI connectors.

By converting USB MIDI signals into traditional 5-pin DIN MIDI signals, the UHOST-I allows you to connect your USB MIDI controllers and keyboards to 5-pin DIN MIDI devices such as synthesizers, sound modules, or drum machines. With the UHOST-I MIDI USB Host, you can enhance the connectivity options of your MIDI setup, particularly if you have a combination of USB and traditional MIDI devices. It facilitates seamless integration and enables you to overcome the technological differences between various MIDI generations. On a separate note, if you have any specific questions or inquiries about metal houses or any other topic, feel free to provide more details, and I'll be happy to assist you further.

- Compatibility -

Standard MIDI compliant devices are supported. Some Complex MIDI devices use a built-in USB Hub. These MIDI devices are not supported and will NOT work with UHOST-I USB MIDI Host. You can determine if your device has a built-in hub by running the free Windows program USB Tree Viewer. If, when you plug in your MIDI device, it appears as a new hub plus one or more devices then it will not work with UHOST-I.

This little box is fantastic. I had been looking at more expensive products and came across this little guy. It arrived quickly and immediately did exactly what I needed. I cancelled my other order of a more expensive product that was going to take 6 weeks to arrive and this has taken a permanent position linking my gear together without taking up valuable space on my desk. Really great product and very well made, it’s solid and has cool blue and green lights! Winner! 10/10

Works great. I wish all keyboards still came with 5 pin midi outs though, a lot of my gear is older and uses the old-school midi inputs. But this device works well.

Top. Consigliatissima e ben fatta in metallo.

So this thing has a cable that is included, the only cable, that you need to plug into a USB wall wart of some kind, to supply power. But then, you'd need a USB-A to USB-A (who even MAKES this cable) to connect the thing to your computer. This is the most ridiculous design I've ever seen. You cannot just use the included cable to connect USB-A to your computer and the other end to the device. Nothing happens. And it doesn't even COME with the cable you'd need, so out of the box it is 100% entirely useless.

It has allowed me to use my usb-only midi controller keyboard to control synths via old-style MIDI connections. So, it met my needs.
