I decided to buy this one because of good reviews. I can't wait to hook it up, follow instructions, and set my brand new 85" Sony TV optical output to PCM as instructed but no sound is coming out. I am so frustrated because I am anxious to hear the sound play through my big sound system. Waste no time, I went to Amazon.com and started to order "PROZOR 192KHz Digital to Analog Audio Converter DAC Digital SPDIF Optical to Analog L/R RCA Converter", hook it up using the same previous setting on TV, and the fresh & clear sound is coming out in a spit second. So, I quickly realize that this DAC is a defective or junk. Plus, the wire outside sleave is broken the same day. See picture! Don't buy this one, zero recommended on this product. I am returning it.

It works well to let me use my headphones on my new TV that had no headphone or audio out jacks. But note that it has no volume adjustment. Adjusting the volume on the TV does not affect this device. You get what you get. Luckily for me, what I get is perfect for me.

This Digital to Analog Audio Converter by Generic turns digital signal for Optical or Coaxial to RCA and 3.5mm stereo. The unit is very small, there is an Optical cable, a Coaxial cable, USB-A to micro-USB power cable and a user manual included.I used this digital to analog audio converted to connected and old soundbar with analog RCA (L/R) to a newer TV with optical (Toslink) digital connection. I placed the converted on the back of the TV and powered it from one of the available USB-A ports on the TV.The converter allows me to use the old analog sound bar with new generation televisions with digital audio outputs. The unit was easy to setup and it does a decent job at processing digital to analog audio.It is inexpensive and easy way to extend the life of old working audio equipment.

This 192kHz DAC converter is exactly what I needed to connect my TV's optical output to my amplifier which in turn connects to inbuilt speakers in my living room. Using this setup, I am able to control the volume of my speakers through the amplifier.Setup was super easy, just plug and play. The sound quality is crystal clear, with no noticeable lag or distortion. It comes in a compact size and it worked perfectly for me. It is very well made and looks durable.I also appreciate that it comes with an optical cable, so I didn’t have to buy one separately. It doesn't, however, come with the RCA cable. Perfect for anyone needing to convert digital audio (optical/coaxial) to analog (RCA/3.5mm). Highly recommend!

This converter works just as expected. Allowed us to hook up some older speakers to our tv for extra volume (the converter DOES NOT boost volume as it is not an amp, just a converter. The speakers had their own volume control. Just to be clear). Sound quality is fine. There is a negligible drop in clarity, but considering my partner had no idea what I was talking about, it's unlikely that you'll notice. It's also completely expected with converting a digital signal to analog, and it was not distracting at all. Build quality of the unit seems good to me, and it was so easy to set up that I would have trusted a 90 year old grandma with no tech experience at all to do it successfully. The optical cable included is not the highest quality and the cable sleeve did stretch off once when I was trying to remove the cable from the converter, but since the cable still works fine and considering the price of the entire unit, i won't knock a star for that.If your unit is dead on arrival, it may be due to rough handling or a QC issue. Mine did work perfectly, so I can't speak to that, and I recommend this converter.

The Digital to Analog Audio Converter is just what I needed! It seamlessly converts digital audio to analog, and the 192kHz DAC ensures superb sound quality. I've got a bunch of vintage speakers that I was running the TV through and getting some terrible popping when I turned it on. This device has cleared up the pops and works great. The cables and user manual included makes for a simple set up. This is a perfect solution for my part modern and part vintage home entertainment system. Highly recommend!

I’m a Gen Xer. We have a 5 disc DVD Sony surround sound system. It’s not top of the line but it was well over a $1000 and that was over 20 years ago. I’m sure many reading this review don’t even know what a DVD is which shows how old our sound system is. However the system works and it still sounds great, but an issue we are facing in these times is that it’s difficult to connect many newer devices (e.g. Nintendo Switch, Apple TV, Xbox, PlayStation, and etc) because they all use HDMI or some other digital connection. I’m sure many of you are appalled and gasping, “Analog?!” Yes my system still uses analog connections. Yes it sounds fantastic as well. Why change something that works and still performs amazingly. That’s why this device is amazing. First extremely well packaged. Second all necessary cables included. Third so small so it won’t take much table real estate. Finally it just works!
