Good little caliper set just very difficult to keep level. Maybe different on other material tried to use on saw blades can’t hold steady for an accurate reading. Going to keep maybe come in handy soon.

I've had this digital micrometer for about 15 months and have used it extensively. I would say between 10 thousand to 12 thousand different measurements. My range of measurements are between 1.5mm and 2.0mm mostly with a few larger. I've attached 4 different photos of linearity graphs of my unit against Precision Tools feeler gauges (2 graphs about 8 months apart), a more recent graph using McMaster Carr precision tool steel rods and a final graph which has the Precision Tools feeler gauges and two certified flat milled stainless steel plates to give a much broader range. I had absolutely no success using this micrometer as a hand held device, which is why I think it has some bad reviews. It's advertised as being a hand held device. I use the device when it is securely fastened to a lab stand. Zero can walk after repeated use, but always returns stable - keep it clean. Excellent for rapid repeat measurements

The readings are inconsistent from one measurement to the next. It’s a nice design for measuring veneer thickness, comfortable, easy to read, it almost never returns to zero after one measurement, I can’t trust it so I’m back to my original vernier calipers.

We have a Cricut Maker 3 and a couple of laser engravers. I was using a micrometer or caliper to gauge material thickness, but tightening differently gave different readings - especially on softer materials. This always uses the same pressure and has large circular pads for measuring thickness. If the paper is corrugated, it will measure overall thickness. You literally can't measure between the corrugations because of the pad thickness. It's quick and easy to use, and it's not auto-on when you use it. That's an advantage here because of the large lever - you don't want it turning on accidentally because you jiggled the box. The frame is coated aluminum, the shaft and mechanism are steel.

the jump from .001" to .0001" precision is huge when it comes to the instrument..001 is relatively low costbut not true of .0001 instrumentsexpect to pay 3-10x this price point for higher end units...so if you are needs are not that demanding and you dont use the device every day, this low cost unit might suffice for your needs... for me, most of the time, .001" is all i need, but on rare occassions i need more, and this little unit is pretty damn accurte, at least to +/- .0002 at a min.i don not see an accuracy spec on this, wold be nice to see, but using some high end units i own, i am finding it reasonably accurate as i wrote above....if you only need .001 accuracy, there is many many options...recommended...

This Mxmoonfree Digital Thickness Gauge has a lot going for it and is very reasonably priced for being such an accurate and useful tool. First and probably most important of all, it is super accurate. I compared the results in the shop with some pro grade calipers that cost 10x the price point and this thing was spot in literally to the .xxxx (4th decimal) tolerance. Very impressive.I also really like the handle as it helps make a reasonable small tool feel larger and more robust. The tea pot style lever is also a welcomed feature. Storage case a bonus as well. Easy to switch back and forth from metric (mm) to SAE (Inch). I would have liked to seen fractional conversion as well as ounce for leather but lacking those, I do not feel takes away from a tool being great and at a super awesome price point.I highly recommend it.
