This product seems to be what I expected. I thought I had a project that it would be useful for, and then ended up just getting a new engine instead of trying to re-tune the old one, so I haven't done anything more than open the box and quickly look over the instructions.Once another project comes up, or if I get a chance to just use this for no particular reason, I will update if there are any issues.

I like the concept, but I have been unable to get this tachometer to work reliably. It's a very simple concept that goes back to the steam engine age where you can mechanically measure the RPMS on a flywheel, shaft, or pretty much anything that makes revolutions. I have been unable to consistently get this to measure much of anything at all with any of the contact probes, reflective tape, or the laser or anything.I suppose if I keep messing around and trying, perhaps I'll have better results. I'll update if something changes, and my experience improves.
