This stopwatch is a great tool for our students to use to time themselves on the ACT test. As an academic coordinator, I ordered several different stopwatches to try out. This was the only silent one I could find. Students can take stopwatches into the ACT exam, but it can't make noise, or they will be dismissed from testing. This stopwatch is silent and easy to use, plus it uses regular (AAA) batteries. There's an on/off button, a reset button, and a start/stop button. So easy to use. We train our high school students on how to use for the exam, and they always make sure they have one. This stopwatch has been an excellent resource for our program. If you need a simple, easy-to-use, and SILENT stopwatch, this is it!

This display doesn't light up.For the price point I assumed it would have a backlight so you can see the numbers better, but it doesn't so this is as basic as it gets for a stopwatch.

Works great! I thought it was broken, as after inserting the batteries, the timer turned on to a random number and was frozen, all I could do was turn it on and off. Just took out the batteries, blew some air around them and the compartment, and it's perfect now. Simple, cheap, and efficient.

It runs on AAA batteries and there is a on and off button to turn unit off completely

Great product. Can't get any more user-friendly than this. I need to use a stopwatch in quiet settings and the silent operation provides peace of mind.

The back of this product keeps falling off and now I have lost it altogether. This means the batteries are not held in place and therefore they drop out. I put it back several times but now it is lost so I have put an elastic band round it to see if I can stop the batteris falling out. Only bought in May but Amazon give you no where to complain and get a refund.

The stopwatch works very well and it keeps excellent time. I tested it against a clock running on the atomic clock and it turns out dead on by my observations. The easy to read part doesn't work so well in low light conditions. Still, one can read it well enough. I like that it doesn't have a dozen functions that I would never use.The only significant problem is how hair trigger the start -- stop button is. As I am riding along the watch may start to swing back and forth as I hang it from my neck. IF the swing causes the stop -- start button to hit something, NO MATTER HOW SLIGHTLY, the watch stops. I often do not notice the watch has stopped and that simply kills the ability of the unit to keep time. IMO, the stop -- start button needs to be a lot harder to start or stop; that is, more of a push should be required to stop or start the watch. This one small flaw makes me constantly check to see if the watch is still running. Very frustrating. I have tried putting it in my shirt pocket, but even then I am afraid the thing might stop as I put it in and I wouldn't know it. Too bad they can't put in a loud ticking sound! Ha.AD2

I should start off by saying it literally took less than 24 hours for the digital stopwatch to be delivered to me! I bought another one because the last one I bought I decided to use as a back up after about 7 years of constant usage.This is a really good stop watch that even includes the batteries in the purchase. While it is a really good stop watch it does have one problem: The back cover easily will fall off and if this happens the watch basically will not work. I solved this problem by putting a piece of duct tape over the battery cover. This problem could be solved by putting a screw in to hold the battery cover to prevent the cover from falling off. I should also add that I keep this stop watch in my car all year round the heat and/or cold weather does not keep it from working and as long as you put a piece of duct tape (or something similiar) over the cover to keep it from falling off you should have many, many years of great use.Summary: Price and performance. Hard to beat that combination. Easy to use Stopwatch with an on/off switch to save battery life. Just remember to put a small piece of duct tape over the battery cover to keep it from falling off. I took one star off for this problem. All in all though this is as good a stop watch as you can buy and its pretty inexpensive too.

There are multiple reviews for prior versions of this product, please disregard those, as it has changed.It seems more often than not we suffer products that have too many unusable features, unintelligible instructions, and require complicated procedures for achieving simple functions, yet fail to perform the most basic of tasks. Thankfully this is not one of those products.Pushing the on/off button turns it on or off.Pushing the start/stop button starts or stops the timer.When timing, pushing the Lap/Reset button freezes the display so you can see the lap time, but the timer continues to run in the background, and lets you know it’s still running by flashing the colon (:) between minutes and seconds.Pushing Lap/Reset again unfreezes the display and displays the running elapsed time.You can push Lap/Reset as many times as you want to freeze/unfreeze the elapsed time.Pushing Lap/Reset when the timer is stopped resets the timer to zero.That’s all. No beeps, no memory, no lap splits, no countdown, no clearing previous data, no programming of dates, days, years, current time, daylight savings time, alarm times, zulu time, backlight intensity programming, Bluetooth interface with mobile app, magnetic flux variations, relativistic tachyon beam distortion factors or any other useless and complicated procedures that engineers and marketing departments hopelessly pile on as “features” that no one can possibly remember, much less use.The display is easy to read and it times to the 1/100 of a second, which is far beyond my needs.It takes 2 AAA batteries, which are included. That’s a nice change, and much preferred over those stupid button batteries, with seemingly hundreds of different types out there identified by slightly different numbers which are never compatible with each other.It’s also accurate. Like a previous reviewer, I timed a 12 hour period to the second as given by the time on my phone, but unlike his results, mine came up dead on.The only quibble possible is that the case feels light and a little flimsy, and dropping it pops opens the battery compartment. Solution: don’t drop it.If you just need a stopwatch that times things and doesn’t assume that you need to perform integral calculus via voice command on the fly, this is it.For the price, I don’t think you can beat it.
