This is a well made and accurate micrometer. It is easy to use. It has a nice green storage box to keep it protected. The instructions are a little weak. They could be more detailed and easier to understand. This item worked well measuring some bolts that I need to replace on my bike. The battery life seems like it will last a good while. All in all, this is a good value micrometer.

At first, when I first got these, I thought they were broken because no matter which battery (the one that was installed and the supplied spare one) I used, the display would not turn on. I started inspecting it a lot closer after I had essentially given up on it and discovered that the battery contact was hardly making contact at all on the battery. After I increased the spring tension, by pulling out the spring a little, then it started functioning. This is a bit bigger than most of the micrometers that I have used, but it does seem to work well. I wish there was a backlight on the display though, because that would make it easier to see in dim lighting. Also, the back rotating knobs are plastic, but they work well.So overall, if you get this, make sure the battery contacts are fully coming in contact with the battery, and it should work for you.

This is an accurate digital micrometer, designed to measure within 1/1000 of an inch - far more accurate and repeatable than the typical digital slider calipers most people use today.Opening the included plastic box you find a calibration certificate, warranty, "manual", the micrometer itself, and two batteries. The manual is less than useless, fortunately this thing is simple enough that you don't really need it. I figured out that the strangely shaped piece of metal is used to open the battery compartment on the back of the micrometer.Once the battery is installed, turning on the micrometer is simple. It can be switched between inches and mm, and it can be zeroed at any point. The adjusting knob has a force limiter clutch which helps produce consistent, repeatable measurements. The micrometer also has a USB port on it. Absolutely no idea why it has this - the micrometer is not rechargeable. The manual makes no mention of it at all, other than calling it out as a "data port" in the diagram. So who knows what it's for?It can measure up to 25mm, and has a friction lock which works very well. This micrometer is accurate and provides consistent, repeatable measurements which agree with my other micrometers. The adjustment knob does feel a bit plasticy and cheap, but it's worked just fine for me so far.Who is this for?- Anyone who needs a very accurate micrometerPros:- Accurate- Repeatable measurements- Easy to read displayCons:- Manual is less than useless- Mystery undocumented USB port
