Accurate measurements, that's what you'll get with this thing. You'll need to go to youtube university though and learn how to use it yourself basically because the included instructions really do leave a lot to the imagination. Seller cheaped out and removed the batteries from the box but the 'what's included' part of the manual on the first couple pages very clearly says batteries are meant to be included.

This device has many added features that make life easier. A few examples are motor inrush current and a filter option for ease of seeing the average voltage of a PWM drive.

First, I have to mention that I am not an electrician and I only use meters for occasional wiring problems. I will post an update to this review if I find a problem with the meter but, since I don't use meters frequently, it could be a long time for me to find any defects. That said, the first thing that surprised me when I opened the box was the weight and solid feeling of the meter. I bought this to replace a cheap clamp on meter that failed and this one is much heavier and far more solid feeling. Also, I've wanted a clamp on meter that will measure DC amps but, until now, they were too expensive for me to justify buying one. I found no physical defects of any kind with this meter. Build quality is excellent. This meter is solid. The main control is smooth and solid. I read in a review of another similar meter that the reviewer was disappointed that they couldn't operate the main control one-handed. That's not an issue with this meter. It's well-designed allowing you to change the main control with one hand. All the buttons feel solid and responsive. I should also say that I also own a Fluke 28 II meter which a rugged high-end and expensive meter and this clamp meter, if anything, feels more solid than the Fluke. I also own an cheaper meter that reads almost precisely as the Fluke and has additional features like dB and light measurement. It has always worked perfectly but it doesn't feel nearly as solid as this clamp-on meter. Of course, just because a meter feels solid doesn't mean it's guts are good but this meter just feels so solid that, if that's any indication about how it's built, I think the internals are probably good too - not as good as a Fluke but good.Beyond how rugged and well-built it feels, it has just about every feature that meters can have as far as I know. An electrician may have a different opinion but this meter is loaded with features - some of which I will almost certainly never use and I'm not even familiar with what a couple are for. First the meter is True RMS (so is my Fluke). It reads both AC and DC amps up to 800/1000 amps. (I'm not sure what the range in that spec means but I'll find out but I'll never be measuring amps over 800 anyway. The meter also has non contact voltage and Live voltage readings. I tested both those features and they worked perfectly. In addition, it has LowZ reading. I actually noticed a small voltage in an outlet some time ago. I didn't know what ghost or phantom voltages were at the time but I figured it must be an inductive voltage from another wire. Now I know what LowZ is and I checked that outlet with this new meter and, sure enough, it confirmed that it was ghost voltage. By the way, my Fluke meter doesn't have the features I mentioned above except it is True RMS. This meter also measures Hz and duty cycle. It also has V F C (low pass filter voltage test) but I'm not sure what that is yet. I have to look that up. The meter also measures temperature in C or F. It takes relative readings, has reading hold feature and a zero out feature. It has non-contact voltage readings and live wire readings both of which I checked out and they work. Of course, it also has all the normal things: AC and DC voltage, amp readings (including DC), resistance, capacitance, diode test, etc. It has a nice bright screen when the backlight is turned on and it even has a light for the clamp which probably isn't necessary but it's there.I tested the meter against my Fluke 28 II for voltage, resistance, and capacitance and the readings weren't exactly the same but definitely good enough for me. The slight differences could have been caused by my connections. The manual is, well, OK. It's not in the goofy Chinglish that so many manuals are but there are some odd wordings but that's a minor point. The manual says that two batteries are included but they're not. That's no issue for me but I thought I'd mention it. However, the product description on Amazon doesn't say batteries are included so it's not false advertising. If I had one complaint, and it's minor, is that the lettering is a bit small for my old eyes. A lot of information has to fit on a small area so that is totally understandable. I need reading glasses to read them and they would be difficult to read even then in low light. Not a big issue.Bottom line is that, I'm really impressed with this meter and I'm happy that I can now read DC amps. Since I do all my own work on my vehicles, that will come in handy. For items like this I usually spend some time reading lots of reviews but there were so many different clamp meters available on Amazon that it was almost overwhelming so, at some point, I just ordered one that seemed OK although there weren't many reviews at that time for this meter but I took a chance and ordered it. I am very glad I did. Another reviewer said that this meter is over-priced and you can get a similar meter that reads DC amperage for half the price. I sure didn't see such a meter - at least not one with all these features and good reviews. The last time I looked for a clamp on meter that reads DC amps they were too expensive for me to justify buying one since I lived without a meter that reads DC amps my entire 75 years but I've always wanted one.I highly recommend this meter but I can't vouch for how long it will last but I have no reason to think it will fail. Also, the listing describes an excellent warranty. I don't know if it really will be excellent if needed but I will probably never need that warranty anyway but someone who uses the meter professionally every day may find out if it's really backed up well.I apologize for the length of the review. In fact, I hardly ever write reviews lately but I was so impressed with this meter that I thought I'd pass my experience on to others thinking of purchasing it.

Got this for my brother in law who likes to do odd jobs and is an all around handy man. From what he told me this volt meter does all the same features as his last meter but this one has the ability to use the clamp to see if a wire has a charge to it without him having to touch any wires or hook any thing up. He really likes this feature. He says just like any other meter it has to be set at certain settings for you to get your proper readings but from what he has done with this meter so far this is working great for him. He even likes it came with a carrying case to keep everything together and organized. So far he seems very pleased with this gift and it has come in handy for him to do the work he needs to do when doing his handy man work.

I haven't had a chance to use all the features yet, but so far it appears to work as advertised. The only problem I've had so far is that the no contact voltage sensor only works if something is plugged into the outlet. Kind of defeats the purpose of a non contact sensor if I have to plug something in. If I have to plug something in, it will be a test light. I like that it comes with a temperature sensor. The case holds all the parts without being too bulky. I haven't had any higher voltage issues to deal with yet so when the time comes I will compare this unit to my fluke meter to get a true comparison.

Review for: Digital Inrush Clamp Meter 1000A TRMS 6000 Counts Multimeter Voltage Tester Auto-Ranging,1000V Amp Volt Meter with VFC,LOZ Mode,AC/DC Current&Voltage Hz/% Resistance Temperature Continuity NCV.I got this mainly for the inrush current feature. My old clamp meter didn't have this feature nor did it do DC current. This one also does DC. I used this meter to check my air conditioner peak current and it work perfectly. I also tested a solar panel DC current and it also worked well for this measurement. I like the fact that it is True RMS. I have good TRMS multi-meter and both read within a 1/10 of a volt of each other at ~120V. The TRMS allows for measurement of nonsinusodal current, like you have with LED or florescent lights. The temperature reading is within a degree of other thermometers I have. I do like that the flashlight and display backlight are different buttons. It comes with a set of adequate leads, a thermocouple, and a simple slightly padded case. The biggest negative I have is that you have to use a select button to change from AC to DC measurements, or vice versa. The main dial has AC/DC on the same voltage location, and also for current. This makes it seem like the meter senses this automatically, but it doesn't. This would not be a big issue, but the meter compounds this by not defaulting to the same AC or DC for each dial setting. The two current dial locations, and the LowZ, default to AC. But the voltage defaults to DC. I'm sure I will get used to it, but it just seems like it should default the same on all dial locations. It defaults to degree C. It would be nice if it remembered your last setting, but it doesn't.
