You can view temp data or record temp data, but I have only managed to get it to do both at the same time with BOTH the AA batteries and a 9V power adapter connected. Weird....It has the settings you would expect, like switching from Canadian to Freedom units, changing the recording interval, setting the time, offsets, etc, but the interface for accessing and changing these, is atrocious and non-intuitive. Furthermore, the instruction manual included is printed in about size 6 font and I could not find a copy published on the manufacture website anywhere. Good luck.This device does record data to an SD card, which is great. Unfortunately, the SD card slot is buried down in a plastic hole, surrounded on 3 sides within 3/16" of an inch, such that even after "ejected" it is still buried with no way to get fingers around it to remove it. Needle nose pliers are required to remove the SD card because of a horrendous physical design choice.3 stars seems fair.....

Instructions are a little confusing to configure but overall, it does a good job of measuring and storing data. It says the kit includes 4x thermocouples but it only comes with 2. It also says it comes with a carrying bag but it didn't. The thermocouples are ~3.5ft long.

This device is hard to set up, as the instructions are so tiny as to be unreadable so must be downloaded and it skips many steps (like "select channel" without saying one word as to how to do so). But they are very helpful via emails, so i was able to muddle through. Once set up though, this is a marvelous data logging quad Type "K" T.C. reader. I have used it for several long tests (48 hours each), reading the datum every minute and it is perfect. To test, i used 4 T.C.'s in a single beaker of water and the temperatures were within .1 C of each other. I switched T.C's of the highest and lowest, and proved the difference was in the T.C's, not the meter. It is a great meter, very portable and inexpensive.

The meter is a little smaller than I expected somehow, only slightly larger than comfortable to hold in one hand. I attached the two cheap flimsy K type thermocouples it came with, two I already had, and a more rugged steel-sheath type and they all agreed pretty well, both at room temperature, in cold water and warm water. Normally the tolerance on K type probes is only 1.5 C near room temperatures, and worse at extremes, so I don't expect a perfect match. I tried recording to the provided 8GB memory card at 1 minute intervals, and then at 1 second. It works. On slow temperature ramps with 1 second sampling intervals, the output sometimes looks "steppy" as if the real resolution of the converter is more like 1 deg C and they're just averaging several readings to get a 0.1 C display, so I don't think it has true 0.1 degree precision, but probably no one cares about that.My main complaint is the cheap plastic case with very tight battery and SD card covers, so stiff I broke off the retaining tab on the SD cover opening it, so now I have to tape it closed. What do I expect buying the cheapest recording meter, I guess. There is a 1/4-20 thread in the middle of the back, so you could mount it on a camera tripod or the like. Anyway the internals of it do what I expect it to. By the way the user manual for this is online, just search for "operation manual 88598 logger" but without the quotes. The product number is 88598 both on the manual and the product. From the website, maybe it is made by "AZ Instrument" in Taiwan, but you wouldn't know it from either the device or the manual.

Il Data Logger funziona bene, appena inserite le termocoppie di tipo K restituisce immediatamente la misura della temperatura sul display e visualizza contemporaneamente la temperatura su tutti e quattro i canali che può gestire. La costruzione è curata. Se proprio dobbiamo trovare una pecca, direi l'interfaccia davvero basica: sarebbe stato comodo visualizzare la struttura del menu sul display, invece si accede ai sotto menu mantenendo la pressione sui tasti preposti, poi bisogna interpretare le "scritte", realizzate utilizzando i pochi caratteri disponibili sul display a cristalli liquidi. Non dico che sarebbe stato necessario un display touch in 4k, questo in fondo è uno strumento di lavoro e non serve per guardare i video in streaming, ma forse si sarebbe potuta adottare una combinazione display-sistema operativo un po' meno basica. Il vantaggio della soluzione adottata è che il consumo di batterie è davvero ridotto. Una funzione molto utile è la possibilità di registrare i dati sulla scheda SD (che è inclusa nella confezione, insieme alle batterie!), potendo anche selezionare il tempo di campionamento in intervalli tra 1s e 10 minuti. I dati vengono salvati in un normale formato .txt. Concludendo, il Data Logger funziona bene ed è un prodotto consigliato

I've got so much value with this temperature logger with 1 year of continuous use, that I bought 3 more! Highlights are how easy it to use, accurate, reliable data logging is when paired with the right accessories! Tips below:1) I loved how simply this logger records data into a .txt file on an SD card you pop into your SD card reader. In Excel, all you have to do is open the txt file and go through the Text Import Wizard to convert the data into columns and rows. For 3 digit temperatures, you will need to manually drag the column separator slider so a digit doesn't get cut off.2) If you need to record for extended periods of time without worrying about the battery auto-shutoff in the middle of recording, buy a 9V (1.5A) 5.5mm AC Adapter (less than $10). The amperage on the power supply is very important. I tried 0.5A and 1.0A adapters and neither were enough to power the data logger.3) The K-Type thermocouples in the box will not withstand high temperatures (they melted), so I purchased a set of 4x PerfectPrime K-Type thermocouple probes with braided metal wire.4) There's a bit of a learning curve to get started, but once you adjust the settings to match your need, it's as simple as holding the REC button and then pressing MAX/MIN so you can watch the display in real time while recording.5) I used NIST and NSF certified thermometers to compare temperatures. This logger with a quality set of thermocouples is very accurate (+/- 2F)

Lo que mas me gusta es que se ve bien mide bien, es pequeño y registra las temperaturas en el tiempo que tu quieres, Lo que menos me gusta son las sondas y que como no se ingles me ha costado hacerme bien con la programación pero al final es bastante sencillo cuando te das cuenta. ah pongan un alimentador aunque le suban un poco el precio.

I received the logger and had to use it the next day. It looks and feels like a quality logger. I checked the accuracy of the reading on input at room temperature and it looked fine. (I have not checked the accuracy at other temperatures.) I had some trouble setting it up due to the instructions. Clearly the instructions were a translation from a different language to english. After a couple of tries I get it set up and working properly. It performed well when I used it.I would recommend this logger. It functioned well and appears to be well built. That said, my advice is to get the logger and work with it before you need it. The operation is fairly intuitive but the instructions are not. It took me several trial and error attempts to get it set up and working as I needed it to work.For the money, this logger was a good tool for me to solve a problem.

This unit was as described and was price very well. Only wished it would come with 4 probes instead of 2. I had to buy another kit a 4 probes so I had all the same type to conduct my experience.

Menu system not very intuitive. Instructions are not great but clear enough. Once set up, it's a doddle to operate and does what I need it to without any fuss. Just works a treat.
