Taylor’s High Precision Waterproof Digital Thermometer provides superior results for the professional on the go. This compact digital thermometer measures temperatures from -40°F to 500°F (-40°C to 260°C). The FDA recommended 1. 5mm step down probe diameter is ideal for measuring thin foods such as fish and hamburger patties. Additional features include min/max memory and hold, auto-off and auto-disable. Taylor’s Safe-T-Guard case provides added safety and hygiene. It's got a good interface, good buttons, well-backlit, probe is sharp, gives good data.But, like everything else Taylor produces, it's shoddily-constructed. Lightweight, extremely fragile, not just outside but inside. Ask anyone in food prep about their experience with these: they break all the time. I handled mine with kid gloves for years, a chunk of the probe sheathe broke where it snaps on to the thermometer housing, but I kept using it. One drop of 4 feet from counter to tile destroyed the thermocouple.This isn't just a problem with this item, it's every Taylor product, of which I have a few. They work great, they feel like crap, they break easily.

I’m not sure why this has such terrible reviews. I’ve had this for almost two years now. And it by far the best thermometer I’ve ever used. It is easy to read, accurate. I’ve dropped it so many time still good. But the big difference I bought it for $11.71.

Taylor quality! Great accuracy! Great price. Above all it rest flat to read in a cup of milk for my latte! Light is nice, and that is water resistant!

We bought this thermometer about a year ago and use daily in our home kitchen. This is the same thermometer I received in my knife kit from the CIA several years ago and is a serious contender when it comes to a basic thermometer.Likes:Starts up very quickVertical screen allows you to stick something and be able to read without having to contort your head or what you're temping (there's very few thermos that are like this)Pretty water proofBright yellow, easy to find in your kit or drawerEasy to calibrateBack litSheath has a hole so you don't have to hold it if temping a hot pot or if using over a grill.DislikesAfter using for about a year and four months, the display finally filled with water. we handwash exclusively since we don't have a dishwasher. I'm guessing we dropped it a few too many times and the seal broke somewhereWould totally recommend and would have bought again but we saw that there's another brand (Cooper) with almost the same exact thermometer so we're trying that one now. I'm pretty sure they're actually from the same mfg.Bon appetit!

Had it a year. In 0 degree temps or 90 outside its always functioned awesome. Reads fast. The backlight is great. Probe tip size is great. An absolute must have at the grill. For the price u can't beat this thing. Taylor makes great stuff. This is a restaurant commercial grade thermometer and the anti microbial is always a plus too. You can't go wrong. How u break off battery door is beyond me. Stop dropping it on cement peopleBuy it. You'll love it
