My son got this for Christmas and really enjoys it. It comes with a nice case. Good product for the price!

Awesome for learning and playing alto trombone! I’m a college student and I use this horn in professional settings. The only complain I have is that the slide lock rattles if it’s not completely screwed to the left, but that’s a very easy fix. I would say this horn is worth its price.

The horn is great. It has a great response and a very good upper register. There are a few minor problems with it, but I would still recommend it to anyone. As for the problems, there's a small rough patch on the inner slide of mine, and the inner slides are ever so slightly out of alignment, so the slide isn't perfect (it's still pretty good). The seventh position is very close to as far as the slide goes, so one might run the risk of the slide coming off, but that shouldn't be much of a problem for an alto trombone anyways. The mouthpiece is terrible for the horn but you can get a cheap new one. The case is bad but it's not a big deal. And you'll probably have to clean it when you get it. None of these are a big deal, with the possible exception of the slide function. Overall, it's an amazing horn for the price and if you're on the fence you should buy it.

This is my first alto trombone, so I don’t have much to compare against. I had two problems with it, each of which are worth a star in my opinion. The slide was out of alignment out of the box, but for this price, I was not terribly surprised to have some quality control issues. It is still functional, but I plan to take fit to get realigned before I play it in public. The mouthpiece that comes with it is, in my opinion, hot garbage. It’s comfortable enough, with a nicely rounded rim, but the cup size is huge. I found that pedal tones were exceptionally easy on this mouthpiece, but hat’s not an alto’s job. It also punched the horn significantly flat, even with the tuning slide all the way in. The mouthpiece might make a good symphonic horn mouthpiece were it not on a small shank. Get a different mouthpiece. All of these problems disappeared when I dropped in my small bore tenor mouthpiece.Otherwise, I’m very pleased with this instrument. The tone is pretty good, it doesn’t have any intonation issues that plague some other altos in this price range, and the fit and finish (aside from the slide alignment issue) is quite nice. The case is fine, a hard plastic with standard latches and a nice molded interior, with a Velcro strap to secure the bell section. The slide moves easily when I take it one stock at a time, it’s only together when it binds a little. All in all, this is a perfectly adequate “beginner” alto trombone.

This is NOT a professional model instrument, price will tell you that right away. That said, I love playing it. I've been a trombone player 40 years and have my Bachelor of Music in Trombone performance so I have lots of experience with tenor and bass trombone. I only played the alto prior to this for a semester in college. I needed something fresh on the trombone so I purchased this inexpensive one and am very satisfied for the moment. The alto is in Eb and because of its size all the positions are shorter so it's taking me a bit to adjust and not have minor pitch issues but that's all me, I tend to reach too far. The instrument itself has a nice mid range from Eb below mid C to Bb above. Any lower and it starts getting a little "blatty", any higher and the sound is thin. My tenor trombone is more clear up to altissimo F than this little alto. I'm experimenting with different mouthpieces but it doesn't change the sound dramatically so far. The slide is a little rough and has a scratchy feel to it (bottom slide) but the top is very smooth. Could be that it is still new but I have a feeling is the cheaper instrument.Overall, thumbs up. It was worth the money.

I saw many reviews on amazon for this horn and watched several YouTube videos on the quality of this horn and so I bought it. It came in the mail and it looked nice until I took the plastic off and the bell had several small dents on it. I took the slide off (very difficult to do) and the lead pipe came off!!!!!!It wasn’t even soldered on!! There was tons of residue on the parts that go into the horn. Everything else was okay. I tried the harmonic series only on 1st position (because the slide was broken) and the tone was good though.

I am going to go out on a limb here and rate this at 5. I have heard good and bad on the Chinese horns, at the price and with a return policy I took a chance. Review time: I have played trombone professionally, I usually play bass trombone as a primary, tenor as a secondary. My money instruments have always been Bach and Yamaha, depending on the gig. So I know my way around horns. I wanted to give myself a challenge and learn Alto. I did not want to shell out a couple of thousand on a top brand. This horn fit the bill. It came in two days, well packaged. The horn was in a semi hard case with a stock tenor mouthpiece. The finish and lacquer is fine, no blemishes. The slide worked very well and I gave it a full flush and lubed both the main and tuning slide. I tried a few notes with the stock mpc. I did not like the sound, I switched to a small NY Bach 22 tenor mouthpiece and got a very nice alto trombone sound out of it. I broke out the tuner and the horn slotted well in all positions. With this horn the positions are very comparable to a Bach tenor with minor adjustments. I have been working with it for about a month. I Plan to use it in December playing the Messiah. Be warned this is not a cut down tenor or starter horn, it is in Eb. If you want to play bone go with a tenor. If you are a player and want to dabble in alto try it. Then get a book on alto exercises and excerpts. Listen to Lindbergh or Freidman to get the concept of "alto sound" .
