I purchased this for my 9 year old grand daughter. I love the idea of not having a key that can get lost. However, after 9 days, the diary will no longer open. I saved her password so it is not an issue of not remembering her password to open the diary. We have attempted multiple times to complete the "reset password" process" indicated in the instructions. But nothing is working. So after 9 days, she is no longer able to write in the diary unless we cut off the strap. Very disappointing.

Santa got it for my daughter for Christmas! She loves it! We had some issues in the beginning to open it because the 000 didn’t work! And the manual said in case you forgot your code look at the side of the numbers with a flash light you will see little holes in 3 numbers and that opens it, we tried that there is no holes in any number! So we just kept trying and trying different numbers till it opened by chance! Since then no issues ! The journal is so cute but the lock system isn’t great!

High quality, not sure if I just missed it, but not sure you're able to change the combination numbers to unlock the diary. The lock mechanism seems sturdy. Pen is great!
