The size is perfect for my son’s bedroom, cheaper, and the quality is the best. Perfect for stinky diapers.

First of all, I think it's important to realize that no diaper pail is going to get rid of all odors of poopy diapers. You're basically storing human waste for a couple of days at a time. So, of course when you open the lid to drop a diaper in, you're going to catch an unpleasant whiff. The same is true when you empty it. But, the new signature pail makes it easy to dispose of diapers, and to change out the bag, too. What this diaper pail does exceedingly well is keep out overall odor. What you want in a diaper pail is to be able to walk into your child's bedroom, or the bathroom, or wherever you are keeping it, and unless it was recently opened, not be able to smell it. I can say that this pail works wonderfully to do that! Now, many people may use this on infant diapers, but I think the true test is using it with an older child who is eating solids and therefore, will have smellier, larger poops. I'm using it for a 3.5-year-old wearing size 7 diapers, and using about 4-6 diapers a day, on average, 1-2 of which (typically 1) are poopy, though it can be as many as 3 in a day if he happens to skip a day pooping.Obviously, these are bigger diapers and often *quite* full, and I will say that is my one disappointment with this pail, that despite its larger footprint, insider the bags don't hold as many diapers as one would think it should. I'm changing it out every 2-3 days, and it's holding around 14 of his diapers, depending on how big some of them are -the overnight diapers tend to be especially bulky. Still, it's probably not a bad thing to be emptying it and swapping out the bags every 2-3 days anyway!Full disclosure, I do put the poopy diaper into a scented diaper disposal sac given he is a preschooler, and his poops reflect that, both in size and odor (not to be gross, sorry) and I think it helps. You also want to make sure to wrap up the diaper snugly before dropping them in.We've put the pail to the test over the last few weeks, with some diapers that I was *sure* would result in odors escaping, but aside from when the pail was opened, nothing!I wish the refills weren't so expensive, but I imagine in time, an after-market brand will come out, and they are very easy to "install"/empty/replace.Lastly, I did see some people say they use the pail only for wet diapers, which I think largely defeats the purpose. Also, given the cost of the diaper pail and replacement bags, I think if that's your plan, you are better off getting a stainless steel garbage can with a lid and using that with normal trash bags, and saving your money.ETA: Just finished using the first set of bags (18) that came with the pail this past weekend, so they lasted about 5-6 weeks? I have noticed that sometimes the pail seems full but when you take the bag out you can often get 1-2 more diapers in before you tie it up.Just put in a refill and the bags seem thicker in material and darker in color (which is nice, hides the contents in the bag a little better I guess when you take it out). Odor control seems even better with refill bags but only on day 2.

We have a septic tank system and when it use to actually rain in Texas instead of being over 100 Degrees every day for the past two or three months, we had to have it pumped out and apparently the Preparation-H wipes that claim to be Septic Tank Safe , are actually not.I was completely embarrassed when our lawn guy that’s been cutting our grass and doing yard work asked me if we had a broken sprinkler pipe or some other kind of water leak. Unfortunately, it was waste from our septic system that we were luckily able to have pumped out before it started backing up into our house. I have never lived in a house with a septic system and I don’t ever want another one either. The problem was with the wipes that hadn’t broken down and we put some of the bacteria in the toilet on a monthly basis , but it wasn’t enough to compete with the wet wipes that are far more effective than toilet paper. We considered buying bidet seats, but after the $500.00+ Bill from the septic system company, we bought a Diaper Genie for our master bathroom. We haven’t had a lot of company since the pandemic and we are basically the on.y two people who use the bathroom that needs some way to get rid of the wet wipes instead of flushing them down the toilet. I knew what they were designed to do as I gifted one exactly like this model to a good friend who had a baby a couple of years ago. Honestly, I would have preferred the Toto Bidet seat , but they are not exactly maintenance free either. We also had just paid a lot more money to have the system pumped out as these wipes are not the easiest to get out of the septic system. The Diaper Genie was perfect and it doesn’t have any issues with smelling bad or so far any problems with odors and it’s extremely easy to use and replace the bag that is designed to fit these units. We have lived in this house for almost 25yrs now, and our neighbors seem to have their systems pumped out every couple of years. This is the first time we’ve had any problems with the system and the contractor who built these homes didn’t install them properly to begin with. The wipes made the pumping process cost much more than our neighbors that we talk with and they don’t even use bleach or other household cleaners that end up in the tank. We have been limiting what we put down the drain as well as he and another neighbor sued the contractor and they had completely new systems installed before we moved in the house. By the time we found out about the situation, it was too late to do anything about the problem except pay for someone else to come in and tear up our yard and fix the faulty septic system. But this was the first time we have had an issue with our system and hopefully the heat that’s been cooking us and our yards has dried out the system. These aren’t just for diapers and we have been completely satisfied with how easy it is to use and dispose of the full bags of wipes. It took some time to get use to using it, as I caught myself flushing wipes down the toilet on a few occasions after we had it pumped out. But it works great for two older people who like clean bottoms. I still see a bidet in our future at some point.

I wanted a diaper pail to dispose of adult diapers. Note: I wear medium pull-ups and tape on diapers, your mileage may vary if you use larger products. I've tried adult specific diaper pails (Akord/Janibell), but the odor control was not great. I've tried the original Diaper Genie, Munchkin and Diaper Champ. The original Diaper Genie and Munchkin had openings that were way too small to accomodate an adult diaper and required alot of pishing and smooshing to get the diaper inside. The Diaper Champ was easier to use, but had too small a capacity. The Signature Diaper Genie has a large opening and easily fits a full adult diaper with minimal effort. I roll it up the diaper tightly and tape it closed into as compact a bundle as I can (for reference, I use high capacity diapers like Abena & BetterDry). The odor control is good for urine. I place any soiled diapers in a BOS odor sealing bags and then put them in the Diaper Genie. The capacity is ok. To be fair, this is for baby & child diapers and it would be great for that intended use. It is pretty large the way its currently made, so to achieve a larger adult diaper capacity, it would be too large and unwieldy. The appearence is pretty discrete aside from the words Diaper Genie on the lid, mine is in the room with my toilet and it just looks like a large trash can. If you are looking for a good adult diaper disposal solution, I think that the Diaper Genie Signature will grant your wish.
