Note:

  1. Please hold the gauge stem tightly to change the testing tips.
  2. The precision of dial indication often lost due to the vibration of machinery and paralax effect.
  3. Space constraints can lead to installing the tool at an angle due to which precision of measuring device is lost.
  4. Please make the contact face as smooth as possible to make the magnetic strength be the best.

Package arrived promptly and in good shape. The kit is really solid, especially the magnetic base and stand ... while the dial itself is rather cheap and a bit flimsy. I used this to align a blade on a rock saw...I was looking for fractions of an inch accuracy and it did deliver on this...though i had to do some adjustments to be sure the dial was not sticking. Overall good value for the money - even if you have to replace the dial meter for a better one for prolonged use. The instructions are not very useful, i don't understand why they cant hire someone who speaks/writes English to write clear instructions for the product.

I’m a machinist new to the trade and just needed something to get by for now. This works ok. Arms and magnet work good so far. Even in vertical metal surfaces it sticks but not as strong as some better brands. As far as doing what it’s supposed to it works. But the dial to “zero” it out is very tight even when the bolt is loosened. Making it very hard to get “zero” without moving the indicator itself. I’ll probably be looking for a new dial sooner than later.

This is a great tool for the price. I used it to try and find a brake rotor vibration and I was able to pinpoint it to the driver’s front rotor pretty easily. Saved me from throwing parts at the issue to try and solve it blind. The arms have a lot of adjustability and the base is magnetic and fairly weighty, so it’s nice and stable.

In the process of going through all the mechanical systems on my 1979 F-150. I had the rear differential apart cleaning and inspecting it. I used this gauge to make sure back lash wasn't excessive. It confirmed I didn't need to replace ring & pinion at this time. I am sure it will come into use again when I tear into the engine down the road to refresh it and install a new cam. Regarding accuracy, this is a cheap tool and I am not expecting the same level of accuracy you would get spending a lot more for a higher end gauge. I am not engineering a bridge nor using this device every day as a professional. it is accurate enough for my needs. I would be nice if the magnet was a bit stronger though.

Never know when you might need a dial indicator kit. I was looking for a dial indicator and this kit seemed to have more than I thought I would need. One disappointment - the different length probes can't be connected together to reach long distances - I would have made this so that each probe was threaded on the end so that you could add probes to get more reach and have one blunt end to top off the stack. Otherwise it works pretty good - my first application was to use on motorcycle with aluminum engine and frame, had to pull a ratchet clamp out of the drawer to mount this since it only comes with the mag base which should typically be all you need but sometimes it isn't.

I had high hopes for this gauge and stand as well as the versatility that all of the extension attachments would offer. The magnetic base on this unit was decently strong and worked well enough. Likewise the dial gauge itself worked well enough. However, one of the most important features on these type gauges is the ability to smoothly rotate the dial face in order to 'zero' the gauge, and this gauge failed that test. At best turning the dial face required too much force making it impossible to adjust without altering the position of the whole gauge, but the worst part was that the dial face would just bind up completely and not turn at all at some locations when turning. Add to this the zero adjustment on the stand rod was so hard to turn as to be not useful at all. This zero adjustment is generally smooth and easy on better stands. I returned this one and will try another brand.
